Previously, the Indonesian Football Association and the South Korean Football Association confirmed the bid, and the Japanese Football Association gave up the bid. The Australian Football Association, which also once gave up its bid, changed its mind at the last moment. They worked with the Qatar Football Association to submit an application to host the Asian Cup.
Previously, the outside world was generally optimistic about the successful bid by the Korean Football Association, because its bid was strongly supported by its own government, and South Korea, as one of the host countries of the 2002 World Cup, has international first-class venue conditions. However, with the bid for Qatar , the prospects for this event will become confusing.
