
5G heat dissipation materials and major stocks

The problem of heat dissipation has always been a pain point for consumer electronic products. The power consumption of 5G mobile phone chips is 2.5 times that of 4G. If there is a pain point, there will be market demand. It has become a market consensus that heat dissipation and battery shielding are hot spots for 5G hype.

1. Three types of heat dissipation technologies route
①VC (hot-smoothing board ): Strong cooling capacity and high technical threshold. After 5G is commercially available, this is very likely to be the mainstream heat dissipation technology. Taiwan main cooling manufacturers are Shuanghong Technology and Jiance Precision. The quarterly demand for Shuanghong Technology VC has doubled, and the stock price has increased by more than three times in the past year. The three Taiwan VC cooling stocks have all increased by more than double. Kunshan Pindai, a subsidiary of domestic Feirongda , mainly engaged in cooling modules, and has heat pipe /VC, stamping parts and fan technologies and products. ② Heat pipe (liquid-cooled heat dissipation copper tube) : The principle is the same as VC. Compared with graphite, the heat dissipation method has higher heat dissipation efficiency and more uniform heat conduction. Many mobile phones currently released adopt a mixed heat dissipation solution that matches heat pipes and graphite. For example, Huawei Mate 20X 5G is graphene + liquid-cooled copper tube heat dissipation, Feirongda , Zhongshi Technology .

VC and heat pipe are relatively high-end and have high costs. Considering the cost and weight, it is mainly used for flagship phones and gaming phones for the time being. It is not popular yet. It is expected that heat pipes this year and VCs next year.
③ Graphite : Graphite heat dissipation is a traditional heat dissipation technology, and it is also very mature and has low cost. Apple is still in use. Zhongshi Technology is a mainstream supplier of graphite heat dissipation in Apple . In addition, it also has technical reserves for graphite + VC, graphite + heat pipes through acquisitions last year.

At present, considering the cost-effectiveness, most of them adopt mixed solutions. For example, Huawei mate20 5G is graphene + cold night copper tube, and OPPO Reno 5G is graphite sheet + cold night copper plate.
