Below Shugang in the northern suburbs of Yangzhou, opposite the road of Cuigang Middle School, there is an empty area. This was originally the hierarchy for the garrison of the Qing Dynasty, Yangzhou garrison training. During the Republic of China, an military airport was built here. It was here that a shocking event happened: On August 20, 1945, after Japan announced its unconditional surrender, members of the Wang Puppet Government Air Force flight crew flew uprising and flew straight to Yan'an.
They secretly traded the plane and surrendered
sent a telegram to Yan'an "ready"
The uprising "Kinguo" aircraft is one of two special planes of the Wang Puppet Government. It is a Type 99 twin-engine transport aircraft produced by Japan in the 1940s. It is specially managed by Bai Qi, director of the Wang Puppet Aviation Administration. At that time, the flight training and course study of the Aviation Training Office had stopped. Flight instructor Zhou Zhihe (later renamed Cai Yunxiang) and second lieutenant pilot Huang Zhefu (renamed Yu Fei) began to secretly discuss the matter of asking the Communist Party to hold a flight surrender (uprising).
On July 7, 1945, Huang Zhefu and bomber Qin Chuanjia went from Nanjing to Xuancheng to find county party secretary Peng Haitao to express his purpose to him. Three days later, Commander Su Yu met them, welcomed their ideas, told them about the party’s policies and eliminated their concerns. Su Yu's reception and conversation gave them great encouragement and strengthened their confidence in the uprising.
htmlOn the morning of August 19, Zhou Zhihe was ordered to fly the "Kanguo" special plane to send Ye Peng, chairman of the pseudo-Hubei Provincial Government, back to Wuhan, and flew directly to Yangzhou Airport when he returned. In the afternoon, Bai Qi, a lieutenant colonel instructor of the Kuomintang Air Force Aviation School who was won by "Yu Fei", sent four people including Yuan Hong, Li Jie (pilot, renamed Yang Jie) to Yangjiamiao to find Huang Zhefu to discuss related matters. That night, Huang Zhefu and Cheng Ming, Secretary of the Ganquan County Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Ganquan Detachment, studied and decided to take off at 8 a.m. on the 20th, and Cheng Ming sent a telegram to his superiors, telling the Party Central Committee: "Only come to the future within the day, don't mistake it for an enemy plane."6 crew members participated in the uprising
"Kind of the People's Republic of China" roaring and flying northwards
On the morning of August 20, the Wang Puppet Air Force in Nanjing was holding a regular Monday "Prime Minister Memorial Week" ceremony. At this moment, at Yangzhou Airport, Zhou Zhihe, Guan Xudong and Zhao Naiqiang came to the plane one after another. Zhou Zhihe told the airport ground staff: "Go to Shanghai and come back in one or two days." Zhou Zhihe was worried that Yan'an Airport would not have ground staff or aircraft technicians, so he specially pulled two mechanics from the airport. There were six people who revolted randomly, namely Zhou Zhihe, Huang Zhefu, Zhao Naiqiang, Guan Xudong, Huang Wenxing and Shen Shihuai.
According to the plan, Huang Zhefu arrived at the airport early in the morning and quietly lurked beside the runway of the takeoff line. When the plane taxied to the takeoff line and slowed down and turned toward the wind direction, Huang Zhefu jumped out and ran towards the plane. The person on board quickly opened the hatch door and pulled him onto the plane. Huang Zhefu sat in the passenger seat, exchanged glances with Zhou Zhihe, and said firmly: "Take off quickly!" Suddenly, the "Kinguo" roared and quickly, soared into the air, penetrated into the sky, spreading its wings to the north.
