Beijing time on January 27th, the NBA officially announced the starting lineup for this year's All-Star Game . The Eastern All-Star 's starting lineup was unexpected. Durant missed the Eastern Conference voting champion and was surpassed by Tatum and Antetokounmpo. The latter was the Eastern Conference voting champion. The starting lineup is Antetokounmpo, Tatum, Durant, Irving , Mitchell . It can be seen that the competition for the All-Stars in the Eastern Conference is relatively fierce. The 76ers duo Embiid and Harden failed to enter the starting list. It is worth mentioning that Embiid has been an All-Star starter in the past five seasons, and Harden only received 3 votes in the media voting.
The Nets became the biggest winner of this year's All-Stars. Two of their players were selected as starters for the Eastern All-Stars, namely Durant and Irving. After 2021, the two entered together for the second time, and they were also the first in the history of the Nets. This is Durant's 13th All-Star selection and Irving's 8th All-Star selection. In addition to them, the Nets' Claxton also has the opportunity to be a substitute for the Eastern All-Stars. The lineup will be announced on February 3, and the Western All-Star starters are not much different from expectations. James is firmly in the vote.
Since the NBA All-Star restructuring, James has served as the captain of the All-Star Game for the sixth time. He has been selected to the All-Star 19 times, tying the historical record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and . He has been elected as the All-Star vote winner for the tenth time, surpassing Jordan and ranking first in history. The other four starters in the West are Zion, Jokic, Curry and Doncic. In the player and media voting, Jokic received full votes. Interestingly, James' total score was the same as Jokic's, both 1.5 points. However, because James ranked better in the fans' voting, James beat Jokic to rank first.
Maybe many fans still don’t know how the All-Star starters are determined. The starting positions are voted by fans, media and players. Fan votes account for 50%, and the media and players each account for 25%. Relatively speaking, the NBA considers the feelings of fans more. Regarding the fan voting for this year's All-Star starting lineup, Barkley bluntly said: "Let's let the fans vote and see what happened when everyone voted for the total copper last time?" It is not difficult to see that Barkley has some objections to the All-Star voting mechanism. He believes that the proportion of fan voting is too high.
This year's All-Star Game will be held in Utah on February 20, with nearly a month left. Currently, only Durant is recovering from an injury among the All-Star starters. However, considering that the injury is not serious, if nothing goes wrong, Durant will return before the All-Star Game, which means Durant will appear in the All-Star Game. In addition, the tweet posted by the US media NBA Muse aroused heated discussion among fans. In the league, Embiid, Lillard and Alexander all averaged 30+ per game, but they all failed to be selected for the starting lineup. It seems that strength does not determine the outcome.
