[Comprehensive report from China Jingwei Network] As the new year is approaching, when the “mini-three links” across the Taiwan Straits will be restored has once again become an issue of public concern. Kinmen County Magistrate-elect Chen Fuhai and Lianjiang County Magistrate-elect Wang Zhongming recently led a delegation to Xiamen to discuss relevant matters with the mainland. Seeing that the resumption of the "mini three links" is getting closer and closer, politicians from the Democratic Progressive Party could not sit still and even threw out the "mainland robbing medicine theory". This statement quickly attracted public criticism on the island.
The newly elected county magistrate went to mainland China to talk about restarting the " Mini Three Links"
The "Minor Three Links" are the most important and most convenient channel for people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, especially those in Fujian and Taiwan, to communicate. This channel was unilaterally suspended by the Democratic Progressive Party authorities in February 2020 on the grounds of epidemic prevention and control. It has been suspended for nearly three years, causing great inconvenience to people traveling between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, and there have been constant calls for its restart.
In order to promote the resumption of the "mini three links" and solve the problem of banned Taiwanese products, Kinmen County Mayor-elect Chen Fuhai and Lianjiang County Mayor-elect Wang Zhongming led a delegation to Xiamen on the 12th. They were accompanied by representatives of the Kuomintang Chen Yuzhen and Chen Xuesheng, People's Party Chairman James Soong, Lianjiang County Assembly Speaker Zhang Yongjiang and others.
It originally only took half an hour to take a boat from Jinma to Fujian. However, due to the current lack of access to the "Minor Three Links", we can only take a flight from Jinma to Taipei Songshan Airport , and then transfer to Taoyuan Airport to fly to Xiamen. The accompanying staff revealed that compared with the usual 30-minute "small three-way" flight, this trip took 10 times longer.

Kuomintang Representative Chen Yuzhen said on the 13th that after arriving in Xiamen, he exchanged views with relevant mainland units on the issue of Kinmen sorghum wine export documents, the personnel involved in the resumption of "mini three links", waterway safety, port management, isolation and convenience measures, etc. The atmosphere of the on-site discussions was good, and both sides expressed goodwill. Both parties believed that the "mini three links" should be opened as soon as possible.
Yang Zhenwu, the outgoing mayor of Kinmen County, said in an interview earlier that the mainland did not want the cross-strait "mini-three links" to be suspended. It was the DPP authorities who unilaterally suspended the flights on the grounds of the new crown epidemic. Knowing that the "mini three links" are expected to be restarted during the Spring Festival, Yang Zhenwu said that although he will no longer be in office by then, "it would be nice to have the links."
More than 70% of Taiwanese people hope to restore the "mini three links"
Taiwan's "Yahoo" has conducted an online poll on the 13th. Regarding the "mini three links" that have been suspended for nearly three years due to the epidemic, now with the unblocking of Taiwan's borders and the approaching of the Chinese New Year, the clamor for restarting the "mini three links" has revived. As of 11:30 pm on the 13th, about 11,800 people have participated in the vote. Regarding "Do you agree with restarting the "mini three links"", 70.2% of the people agreed.
In fact, since the Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced in October this year that it would lower the tourism epidemic alert level to Level 2, and announced on December 1 that wearing masks outdoors would be exempted, people in Jinma and Ma have been petitioning, hoping that the "mini three links" can be resumed as soon as possible. However, there has been no news of opening up, and people are dissatisfied with the announcement that a parade will be held on December 24 to "return to me the three small links" to create a new situation for cross-strait peace.
Chen Qingbao, a former representative of the Kuomintang and the instigator of the "Little Three Direct Links", said that now that the epidemic has been greatly alleviated, and both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Jinma and Xiamen have made preparations for the resumption of flights, Taiwan's administrative agencies have no reason and should no longer obstruct the resumption of the "Little Three Direct Links".

Democratic Progressive Party ideology is at play
All walks of life are doing their best to resume the "mini three links", but Su Zhenchang, the head of the administrative agency of the Taiwan authorities, actually said that at this time, the epidemic is resurgent in the mainland, and if the "mini three links" are rashly restarted, mainland people may come to Taiwan to grab medicine. He also said that Taiwan has "succeeded in epidemic prevention" in the past three years. If there is a breach, it will be difficult to explain to the people.Xue Ruiyuan, head of the Taiwanese government's health and welfare department, also said that restarting the "mini three links" will not necessarily increase the demand for drugs. It is also possible to start searching for drugs and send them to the mainland.
The remarks made by the DPP politicians are really shameful, and their dark psychology is even more exposed. Representative Zheng Zhengqian of the Kuomintang pointed out that the "Minor Three Links" are an important means of cross-strait exchanges. Now Chen Yuzhen, the Representative of the Kuomintang, is also communicating, hoping that the "Minor Three Links" can be opened to traffic. Taiwan's administrative agencies announced the lifting of the lockdown, but flights and cross-strait exchanges were completely unfriendly. As for Su Tseng-chang, who is worried about mainland China coming to Taiwan to snatch medicines, and does not want to open the "mini three links", it will not block mainlanders from coming to Taiwan, but Taiwanese who really want to return to Taiwan.
Kuomintang Chairman Zhu Lilun said that public opinion representatives hope to solve the "small three links" and other issues expected by the people through communication. The DPP authorities should feel ashamed because these problems should be solved by the authorities. Zhu Lilun emphasized that the Kuomintang absolutely supports the restoration of the "mini three direct links" as soon as possible. Regarding Su Zhenchang's statement that "the mainland will come to grab medicine", he called it ridiculous and said that the biggest beneficiaries of opening the "mini three direct links" are the people of Taiwan. The DPP's unwillingness to open up is entirely ideological.
There are no obstacles in the mainland.
As we all know, the "small three links" between the coastal areas of Fujian and the Kinmen and Matsu areas have been in place for many years. The routes, destinations, participating shipping companies, and relevant customs clearance, entry, quarantine and inspection have formed a set of mature and effective norms and practices. As long as the DPP authorities remove the obstacles they have deliberately set up, relevant businesses on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can communicate according to the actual needs of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and follow the existing model to deal with specific issues such as flights, and the air traffic between Jinjiang and Xiamen can return to normal.
However, the DPP authorities have repeatedly insisted that the so-called "inter-governmental consultation" and "official-level communication" can be used to resume sailing. This shows that it is false for them to restore the "mini-three links", but it is true to continue to close them; it is false to resume cross-strait exchanges, but it is true to continue to block them; it is false to care about the welfare of the people, but it is true to seek political self-interest.
The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council has reiterated many times that there are no obstacles on the mainland to the restoration of the "mini-three links" across the Taiwan Straits. Relevant parties are fully prepared and can be put into operation at any time. We advise the DPP authorities not to continue to use deceptive tactics to harm the vital interests of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, especially those in Taiwan, but to lift the artificial restrictions set unilaterally as soon as possible.
