About 2,000 teachers and students from 20 primary schools and kindergartens in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province and more than 50 coaches participated in the training, bringing the baseball factor back to campus.
MLB FIRST PITCH Baseball Charity Course is a baseball popularization charity project initiated by MLB (Major League of American Professional Baseball). In the two years of its development, it has reached 201 schools in 12 cities in China, directly benefiting 23,260 students and indirectly affecting 154,969 teachers and students. The public welfare course aims to allow more children with zero foundation to receive baseball enlightenment education, practice simple baseball projects in the form of small games and master some basic knowledge of baseball, and perceive the fun of baseball.
For this event, Yangzhou Baseball and Softball Association serves as the guiding unit. Under the guidance of a professional baseball coach, students shape the baseball rules and experience the joy of teamwork cooperation in practical action training such as holding the ball, catching the ball, passing the ball, and going up the base. In addition to baseball charity classes, MLB also provides all-round support for teachers and other teachers training to participating schools. Currently, the project also plans to go deep into the community and let baseball reach more people by creating a public project with the concept of community center.
