1919, French Football Association was established, Jules Rime was elected chairman of the French Football Association, and in 1921 he became the chairman of the FIFA. At that time, Coubertin believed that the Olympic Games were aristocratic sports, and was not satisfied with Jules Rime's policy of breaking away from the IOC control and implementing the popularization of football, so he expressed his opposition.But Jur Rime successfully compromised the International Olympic Committee with his ambitious will and superb skills and agreed to hand over the Olympic football competitions to FIFA.
3, promoting the successful holding of the World Cup
1924 Paris Olympics and the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics have greatly increased Jur Rime's confidence in hosting a world football match and decided to hold the first World Cup. At that time, Uruguay national football team won the championships of these two Olympic football competitions in succession. In addition, the Uruguayan government promised to bear the entire cost of the participating teams, so Jur Rime agreed to hand over the hosting rights to Uruguay .
However, Uruguay is located in the southeast of South America, more than 10,000 kilometers away from Europe, so many European teams expressed dissatisfaction with this and refused to go to Uruguay to participate. But Jur Rime still successfully convinced four European teams, including the French national football team, the Yugoslav national football team, the Romanian national football team, and the Belgian national football team, to participate in the first World Cup in 1930.
