From April 30 to May 5, the average number of new reported infections nationwide was nearly 5,800, a decrease of 80% from the peak. The epidemic prevention and control situation in Shanghai continues to stabilize, the epidemic in Jilin Province is in the final stage, and the risk of epidemic spread in Beijing has been reduced.

Liang Wannian said that since 2020, my country's COVID-19 prevention and control has been roughly divided into four stages: the emergency confinement stage of sudden epidemics, the exploration stage of normalized epidemic prevention and control, the "dynamic zeroing" stage of full-chain prevention and control, and the current "scientific and accurate, dynamic zeroing" stage of all-round comprehensive prevention and control. Compared with the first three stages, the main feature of the fourth stage is to adapt to changes and optimize and improve corresponding prevention and control measures based on the characteristics of the Omickron mutant strain; use fast to control and speed, effectively implement the "four early days", and the early means of epidemic detection are continuously upgraded; the isolation and treatment capacity is further enhanced, and prepare for designated hospitals, square hospitals, and isolation points to ensure that they can expand rapidly after the outbreak and meet the needs; the classified treatment mechanism is further improved, and the treatment work will be carried out in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the "Ninth Edition of the Coronavirus Pneumonia Diagnosis and Treatment Plan (Ninth Edition)"; the epidemic handling will be accelerated and focused, and the allocation of forces in the control, detection, epidemiological investigation, transportation, isolation, and treatment will be made as soon as possible to make the prevention and control chain more effective and coordinated.
In the past year, the epidemic situation in many border cities in my country has occurred repeatedly. Liang Wannian said that after the epidemic prevention and control has entered the normalization, more efforts are needed to "prevent imported cases from outside". It is necessary to improve the epidemic prevention and control mechanism in port cities, establish a special port prevention and control team, and strengthen the main responsibilities of local, industry, department and unit. An epidemic prevention and control buffer zone can be set up in port cities with conditions, and differentiated zoning control measures can be implemented to change the current situation of strict control of port cities as a control area; strengthen the capacity building of monitoring and early warning system, and effectively prevent people, objects and the environment; improve the prevention and control and emergency response capabilities of port cities, and strengthen the construction and preparation of disease control institutions, designated hospitals, fever clinics, , grassroots medical and health institutions, and centralized isolation points. Port cities should simultaneously study and deploy epidemic prevention and control and people's livelihood security, publish and unblock people's livelihood security hotlines, and promptly solve and actively respond to people's concerns.
