2022 China Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival will be held from November 2 to 20. This year, Liu Gengming was once again invited to serve as visual coordinator and lead the Bito design team to tailor a series of wonderful visual designs for Golden Horse 59. Today, it was the first to announce the main visual of "Golden Horse 59", which not only forms the 59-shaped golden horse totem, but also simultaneously releases dynamic images. The two are full of ingenuity, which makes people look forward to the wonderful appearance of Golden Horse 59.
was created by the Bito design team led by Liu Gengming, with Chen Xinfa, the winner of the "Taiwan Outstanding Film Worker of the Year" at the last Golden Horse Awards, and paid tribute to the filmmakers with the visual theme of "Gaze Traces: How to Coexist with Changes and Unknowns". They transformed their efforts and training to the film into real traces of the main visual, and also symbolized that behind the Golden Horse Hall is the proof of the efforts of all filmmakers.
This year, the world has faced epidemic, war, and various unpredictable tests, but it has also seen people's response and changes. This situation is very similar to the film industry, because filmmakers often solve various random situations on the shooting site and overcome climate or human factors. The sun marks, sweat stains and scars on their bodies, the marks, mottled and wear on the surface of the equipment all show that making a movie is a difficult problem, but the filmmakers are still persistent, "These persistence concepts will never be compromised, and sweat and tears and all wear and tear will be the medals of the filmmakers." Behind each glamorous work are traces of the efforts of countless filmmakers. These traces accumulate day after day and eventually become images in the eyes of the audience.
Therefore, in this Golden Horse 59 main visual design, Bito tried to "visualize" the film creation and shooting process. The 59-shaped shape is used to form a golden horse totem, and the main vision of the 90-degree flip plane is instantly transformed into a 3D three-dimensional golden horse font design. In order to accurately present this visual surprise, Bito also designed and created a bidirectional digital sculpture to simulate the effect of testing the change of perspective.
In terms of the surface texture of the 3D three-dimensional Golden Horse font design, the Frank texture creation team led by Chen Xinfa restores and reproduces the atmosphere and situation of the filming scene. The black clothing that the staff behind the scenes avoids light reflection as the background color, presents spray paint water stains, marks of positioning tape, wear and scratches of the apple box and equipment that support the crew's trampling, and various texts and marks. These overlapping traces are silent processes that cannot be seen in front of the screen.
In terms of visual tone, bright orange is used as the main color to show more boldness and vitality. In terms of fonts, the design of sans serif fonts is chosen to balance the overall vision between modernity and grandeur. More exciting series of visual designs of Golden Horse 59 will be announced one after another, so stay tuned.
