Jin is a member of the Korean super pop band BTS (BTS). He once said that he is expected to serve in troops close to the South Korean border with North Korea and is expected to enlist next month.
The 29-year-old singer made the announcement on the K-pop fan community platform Weverse on Sunday when a fan asked him if he was excited about his upcoming birthday.
"No...I was asked to go to the front line," he said.
Considering that his birthday is December 4, he seems to have received a notice of enlistment to go to the front line to train within next month.
However, Big Hit Music, the band's agency, did not disclose the exact date and location of his enlistment.
Last month, the band announced plans to serve in the military after a one-day show in the southern port city of Busan . On Buenos Aires , he performed his first live single "The Astronaut" at the concert of the British rock band Coldplay, and upon returning from there, he requested the military to cancel his postponement.
According to the Military Service Act revised in 2020, his enlistment date was postponed until the end of this year. In South Korea, all healthy men must serve in the military for about two years.
