Under the premise that Japan's semiconductor support funds have some requirements, many industry insiders also speculate that companies that go to the United States to establish factories may also be subject to some additional requirements from the United States.
However, based on the US, the action was a little slow, so although the bill had been passed for a long time, the guessed requirement was not officially released. But just recently, the requirements for building a factory related to this were finally released.
According to news released by foreign media, several major battery manufacturers in Korean companies were asked to "share core technical information" during their investment in the United States. It is understood that LG and South Korea's battery manufacturer SK On talks about core technology when negotiating with General Motors and Ford. These American companies have presented a high-sounding reason, that is, to confirm the safety of the products produced, so Korean companies are required to share the so-called core technology.
Actually, to put it nicely, it is sharing, but to put it nicely, it is no different from "rogue behavior". Although this is still the case of US companies, which is a cooperation negotiation process between enterprises, can’t help but make us reflect, are all companies that go to the United States to build factories facing a scenario of “submitting core technology”? After all, as far as the usual style of the United States is concerned, it is unlikely that they will really get subsidies so simply. Furthermore, these Korean companies have chosen to build factories in the United States, so we have to guess this way.

To a certain extent, as a "big goal" for building factories in the United States, if similar requirements arise, then TSMC will be the first to bear the brunt. In addition, TSMC's own technological advantages are very obvious. The reason why TSMC can have its current market position is largely because TSMC's technology is very excellent. Then in this case, it is not impossible for TSMC to fall to being asked to hand over its core technology.
Secondly, the United States has had a precedent for requiring the payment of relevant data. also proposed a picture at that time to find out the problem of chip shortage and solve the current chip shortage problem, and many multinational semiconductor companies were required to hand over key data within 45 days. After the cause of the chip shortage was finally found, the United States did not provide any response policies or measures. So in the eyes of many people, this matter is quite questioning what the US’s purpose was at that time. So based on this matter, it is not impossible for the United States to make these "excessive" demands on them again.
Finally, most of TSMC's orders come from US companies. To some extent, TSMC is more likely to be held back. If really comes to the point where you want to submit core technologies in the future, TSMC may not have such a solution even if it doesn’t want it. So, it is said that TSMC may suffer again.
But to be honest, it is not the turn of companies like TSMC and Samsung to hand over their core technologies. However, there were several major Korean companies in the United States who were asked to build factories, and these companies should be alert. Because American companies really won’t ask manufacturers to hand over their core technology for no reason.
