As we all know, HTC has regarded VR as an opportunity to explode again. Not only did it launch HTC Vive Pre at the beginning of the year, it has also begun to vigorously promote the application development of VR. HTC Chairman Wang Xuehong also personally promoted and displayed HTC Vive products worldwide.
Because it has various experiential innovations in VR from Taiwanese innovative companies such as HTC and Leihu Technology, as well as VR products from international companies such as Samsung, this year's Computex, VR applications show unprecedented imagination and open-minded imagination, and also show the innovative vitality of Taiwanese companies at the forefront of technology.
InnoVEX exhibition area is full of vitality
"Internet +" has become a global trend. In order to better show innovation, this year's Computex established the new enterprise zone InnoVEX in the third hall of the Taipei World Trade Center exhibition, focusing on innovation and new enterprises.
Today is the second day of the Computex exhibition. When Huanhuanjie came to the InnoVEX exhibition area, the audience waiting to register to enter the venue at the entrance still lined up.
When you enter the exhibition hall, the layout here is not as bright as the traditional exhibition area. The entrepreneurial forum in the center of the venue is mainly made of black tones and black curtains, exuding a primitive vitality of grass and wildness, and it has a clear sense of black technology in a relaxed, lively and unconventional way.
As Ye Mingshui, deputy secretary-general of the Taiwan Trade Center, said, the goal of the InnoVEX exhibition area is to promote the emergence of start-ups and teams, and to find opportunities for cooperation with international fundraising platforms and venture capitalists.
In addition to building an interesting exhibition venue, the entire InnoVEX exhibition area also holds a series of entrepreneurial forums, start-up exhibitor conferences (Demos), and start-up competitions with a bonus of NT$1 million (approximately RMB 200,000) to create the most international innovative economic stage for global start-up teams and enterprises.
From the on-site perspective, the organizing committee’s good intentions have been recognized by the participating companies. Not only the veteran technology companies Samsung and HTC have arranged the venue to the InnoVEX exhibition area, but even the Audi also displays the latest Internet of Vehicles technology here. It seems that Samsung, HTC, and Audi are going to position themselves as "innovative enterprises".
VR begins to go to the world and go to the sea
wears a helmet and headsets, and a VR experience has just begun. At many previous exhibitions, we can see VR game entertainment and other displays, but in the InnoVEX exhibition area, we can see a cooler VR experience.
This is the Birdly displayed by HTC (I am a little bird), a set of Vive flying equipment that can realize people's dream of flying. The audience leaned over the specially made chairs, with "wings" on both hands, flapping the air and circling in the air, watching the smaller and smaller world of ground, just like a flying bird. There is also a "Hero Line of Defense" experience in the exhibition area of
HTC, using VR to realize the feeling of visiting the battlefield of World War II, and Holodia somatosensory VR, realizing an immersive sports experience in the virtual world, as if it is as real as rowing in a lake. This set of equipment provides ten different sports and fitness scenarios, including tropical style, Babylonian civilization, Antarctic, etc., bringing completely different visual and experiential impacts.
In Samsung's VR experience, the audience sat on a specially made chair. After the start, the person actually made a 360-degree swing. The screen next to it showed that the audience was experiencing the adventure scene of crossing tunnels and caves.
And in front of the booth of Leihu Technology, you can see a VR360 submarine-type equipment. Without going into the water, let this equipment go deep into the sea, and people can experience the real underwater world of 360 degrees.
In front of another exhibition area, the audience was "hanged" on a shelf with a VR helmet on his head. It turned out that he was experiencing VR bungee jumping.

VR device itself is still improving, but how to use VR, how to make the immersive experience go to the extreme, and open up a new feeling of humanity? This is the creative VR application creativity presented at this Computex exhibition, and it is also the exploration that is currently at the forefront of global technology.
VR faces two major challenges in cost and content
In the future, VR will comprehensively change the business formats in the fields of leisure and entertainment, game competitions, simulation demonstrations, retail, health care, social networking, etc. At present, VR development that integrates more life scenarios is in full swing. In addition to the first applications of the game entertainment and film and television fields, the application directions of medical care, fitness, sports, training, real estate, etc. are also progressing.
But from the perspective of VR development, there are still two major obstacles: one is cost and the other is content.
First talk about the content, some IEEE experts have said that to a certain extent, VR needs to produce supporting VR content as support. Manufacturers will continue to produce better hardware and new equipment, and then R&D personnel will create corresponding digital content and experiences for them. Future schools and families will use VR/AR, but people still don’t know how and why they will use it.
Not everyone likes to play games, so how do people who don’t like to play games use VR? Due to the lack of content, people don’t know what to do with it, so naturally it seems to be costly. Of course, the hardware cost of VR devices still needs to be further reduced, but if this product can meet the general needs of consumers, it will naturally greatly solve the price problem.
is expected to exceed US$1 billion in 2016, of which the hardware market will reach US$700 million and the software market will reach US$300 million. Goldman Sachs also released a report saying that under normal expectations, as long as the device's mobility and battery life can be solved, the VR/AR industry will open up a US$80 billion market by 2025.
So, from this Computex exhibition, VR applications are full of imagination and creativity, which not only shows the vitality of the VR industry, but also the creative innovation of Taiwanese companies will further stimulate breakthroughs in VR content and overcome the development obstacles of the VR industry.
