He’s a nice player for sure, but the Suns are completely stocked with wings. If this trade means the Suns are handing the keys to Melton, then I’m fine with it. But if it means Austin Fucking Rivers is the new starting point guard it’s kind of a disaster.

Suns Fan: Oubre is definitely a good player, but the Suns are already overcrowded on the front line. If this deal means the Suns are going to straighten Melton, I would be happy, but if this move means Rivers Jr. plays the starting point guard, it would be a disaster.

Oubre is the non-shooting (I literally cringe everytime I see him hoist up a 3 and have taken to calling him Kelly "Clank" Oubre), more-athletic version of Swaggy P's little brother. He is an absolute clown, a selfish ball hog and stupid on D. Dude has been garbage all season. Anyone who says otherwise, I sincerely question if they actually watch the games.

That has to be the case, the only other situation I can see is that a) the Suns didn't ask for medical records or b) that they didn't pay attention to the medical records, both of which requires a level of incompetence so great that I'm not sure any team is capable of that.

Compared to Marshon brooks, absolutely, but Dillon brooks is a solid young player with another year of a cheap contract, while oubre rivers are free agents this coming summer. The suns play this season will improve having someone who has experience playing point at an NBA level in Rivers, even if he hasn’t been great this year. I could be convinced the long term effect of Ayton having a more successful competitive rookie year outweight the benefit of another year of dillon brooks.

Lakers fan: Compared with the previous Marshan Brooks , it did make a profit, but Dillon Brooks is a very tough young player, and his contract is still very cheap. However, Oubre and Rivers Jr. are both free agents that are about to expire this summer, but with Rivers Jr., the Suns finally have the chance to upgrade their backcourt to the NBA level, although he is not very good. But I still think if the Suns got Dillon Brooks, it would give Ayton a more successful and competitive rookie season.

It's better than just keeping Ariza, who had an expiring contract, and the Suns aren't making the playoffs, Austin Rivers might sign long term for less, and let's face it, Kelly Oubre is not getting paid big money by someone else, he can be a solid starter potentially. However, I agree that there might have been a better deal out there.

Mavericks fans: In fact, the Suns' deal is OK, especially compared to the big contract of leaving Ariza, it is even better. After all, the Suns can't make the playoffs at all. Rivers Jr. has a long contract, and the price is not high. Although Kelly Oubre is not worth a lot of money, he is still a qualified starter with potential, so I still think this deal is quite profitable.
