Sean McGeough, vice president of North America business jets for business
, said that the size of U.S. business aviation is the largest and growing in the world, with one-third of its existing fleet being large ultra-long-range business jets, which is also consistent with Airbus' market focus. “We expect to see more demand from private jet owners who want business jets to be able to upgrade to newer models, and we also see more potential customers who want to buy the first large private jet,” said Sean Magve. At the same time, he also believes that with the support of the ACJ220 business jet's high comfort and economy, the US market will develop better.
Airbus launched ACJ220 business jet mainly meets the needs of some customers for large ultra-long-range business jets. This business jet can fly for more than 12 hours and has a spacious cabin space (can be equipped with 6 VIP living areas, each area is about 12 square meters). According to Airbus, the ACJ220 can save 1/3 of its operating costs compared to other competing models, with lower noise and fuel consumption, making it quieter and more environmentally friendly. ACJ220 has been certified to use 50% mixed fuels with a blending rate of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and plans to obtain certification to operate with 100% SAF by 2030.
In terms of cabin customization services, the ACJ220 business jet provides a flexible cabin catalog. Airbus also launched a design studio at its headquarters in Toulouse, providing customers with an immersive experience through virtual reality, which is conducive to customers customizing cabin layout and selecting interior materials according to their own needs. Considering the existing scale, fleet composition and growth trend of the US business jet market, Airbus business jets are optimistic about the demand for new and old replacement of US business jets and the purchase demand for new aircraft of larger business jets. It plans to further expand its market share in the US business jets with the competitiveness of ACJ220 in performance and service.
