MG MULAN as a global model, first of all, its design team must also have international characteristics. The design of MULAN is naturally completed by SAIC Design, two teams with great international vision. Through the actual car display of MG MULAN's online design analysis meeting on June 25, the editor was deeply impressed by the younger and sporty appearance of MULAN.
As Mr. Shao Jingfeng, global executive director of SAIC Design Center, said: "If you have a grille, you will be beaten. Without a penetrating taillight, you will be backward. Designers dare not ignore it. Having these elements is the political correctness of electric design." The appearance of MG MULAN maintains the political correctness of electric design, and at the same time, it has achieved certain innovations to make it look unique.
Chinese and British design teams have well integrated young sports with pure electric elements, and the "hybrid" genes meet the aesthetic needs of consumers in different markets. The front face of MG MULAN uses a closed air intake grille exclusive to pure electric vehicles, reflecting its identity as an electrified model. The front face has clear edges and in detail, the overall lines spread from the center of the front of the car to the surroundings, making the front face of the whole car look very sharp. The ventilation hole design on both sides of the lower end not only highlights the young and sporty style, but also plays the practical effect of dissipating heat and cooling the brake system. We all know that Europeans attach great importance to the safety of cars. This can actually be seen from the European E-NCAP standards. You must know that the E-NCAP standards are more stringent than the safety testing standards of my country's C-NCAP. E-NCAP is an early automobile evaluation agency, and its evaluation standards are relatively complete, which is also the reason why it is believed by all over the world. The evaluation standards of C-NCAP were also developed based on the European evaluation standards and are constantly improved during the development process, but there are still differences in collision evaluation projects, speed settings, dummy placement and specific weights.
First of all, there are obvious differences in the test items: E-NCAP has four major evaluation items: adult occupant protection (front collision, side collision, whiplash test), pedestrian protection, child occupant protection and safety assistive technology. The C-NCAP 2015 version only has adult occupant protection and some safety assistive technology. The 2018 version adds pedestrian protection projects, but there is a lack of specific evaluation details for child occupant protection, and the 2018 version will not be implemented until July 1, 2018.
