According to Korean media reports such as the Chosun Ilbo, on the evening of October 29, local time, a stampede occurred in Itaewon, Yongsan District, Seoul, South Korea, causing many deaths. It is reported that the people were holding a Halloween celebration when the accident occurred.

Fire department said that the accident occurred around 10:15 pm. After receiving the call, the fire department and the police rushed to the scene and implemented emergency measures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the fainting personnel, and sent the injured to the hospital.
Around 11:20 pm local time, more than 10 people fell on the roadside of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon and received cardiopulmonary resuscitation from rescuers.
South Korean fire department said that a total of 81 people had difficulty breathing, and more than 50 people had cardiac arrest.
The accurate scale of casualties has not been confirmed yet.
The local fire department said that in response to the stampede " second-level response has been issued." In South Korea, the secondary response corresponds to a "medium-sized disaster."
According to Korean media reports, that night, Itaewon area held parties and celebrations on Halloween eve. Police said more than 100,000 people gathered in Itaewon that night.
It is understood that due to too many people, the ambulance cannot move, which caused some victims to wait for treatment on the floor in front of the police station.
South Korean President Yoon Seo-yeol issued instructions on the stampede accident in Itaewon, requiring relevant departments to quickly provide first aid and treatment for the injured and take safety measures.
