In 2020, the "Book-Fragrant Lucheng" project of the Hundred Operas (Kunshan) Festival, the 24-hour self-service library, and the Kunshan Library's "Book-Fragrant Lucheng" project were continued, as well as the renovation of Zhongshan Hall and the upgrading project of Houbeiren Art Museum were included in the city's cultural promotion project. The total investment of is 280 million , and the planned investment is 80 million yuan that year. In addition, our city will also build a key project, the opera, Hundred Opera Museum, with a total investment of 450 million yuan. It plans to invest 40 million yuan that year, which will provide Kunshan with a charming new cultural carrier, expand new cultural space, and better meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of citizens.
Opera Bai Opera Museum
At the intersection of Xincheng Road and Bingtilian Road in Bacheng Town, a vacant land with an area of about 12 acres has been leveled. With the cooperation of the forklift, several greening workers are transplanting trees. This is the construction address of Kunshan Opera Hundred Opera Museum, and is currently in the preparation stage for construction.
Opera Bai Opera Museum is planned to have a total construction area of of about 13,000 square meters. planned to invest 40 million yuan that year, and it is divided into exhibition halls, social education, protection and research centers and other functional areas. It will fully display the characteristics of 348 opera types across the country. The project will start in September 2020 and is expected to be completed and used in September 2023. It will not only provide public cultural services to the surrounding villages and community people, but will also help the country further improve the protection, inheritance and development of opera, and better reflect the cultural responsibility of the "Hometown of Kunqu Opera".

As the birthplace of Kunqu Opera, the "ancestor of the opera" of Kunqu Opera, from 2018 to 2020, Kunshan held three consecutive operas (Kunshan) ceremony, focusing on the performance of classic operas (sub-plays) of national operas, becoming the most complete opera display in the history of Chinese operas.

24-hour self-service library
Kunshan Library 24-hour self-service library project has been constructed and implemented in 2018. Houbeiren Art Museum upgrade project
Houbeiren Art Museum upgrade project is located at the intersection of West Street and Langhuanli, Laocheng District, covering an area of 4.2 mu, with an area of 1,925 square meters of renovation area. will transform the old and aging facilities and equipment inside to eliminate safety hazards, and increase the area of exhibition halls and painting libraries through renovation and expansion, increase the library area, and implement information transformation.
