When I was 6 years old, my father's good friend Mr. Cai Qingzhu took me to the Chinese school in , Jakarta, and . Since then, I have learned from local newspapers and my father’s friends that my father was a great patriot. He used the pen in his hand as a weapon and wrote more than 400 political comments and essays in more than three years, participating in the War of Resistance and defending the motherland in this form. At the same time, through Chinese films spread to Indonesia, I have gradually deepened my understanding of the motherland and my yearning for the motherland is becoming stronger and stronger. After returning to Beijing with my father, Mr. Hu Yuzhi, a close friend who had fought against Japan in Indonesia, entrusted Mr. Zheng Zhenduo to find me and my brother through the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. In 1960, under the care of Mr. Hu Yuzhi and the Embassy, my brother and I finally returned to China. At that moment, I deeply felt that the orphans overseas had a mother. Without my motherland, I will always be an orphan who has been wandering overseas.
After returning to China, I was arranged to study at the Overseas Chinese Tutorial School in Beijing.我和哥哥依靠父亲留下的稿费，以及国家提供的奖学金生活。 Although it was an era when material conditions were not yet abundant, my time in Beijing made me feel extremely happy. As a returned overseas who has been living abroad, I cherish this hard-won sense of belonging more than anyone else. At the same time, I also made up my mind to study hard, live up to the name Yu Dafu, live up to the stability and peace exchanged by countless revolutionary martyrs with their flesh and blood, and live up to the country's care and care for me. In 1970, after graduating from the instrument automation major of Beijing Petroleum Academy, I have been working on the oil front, hoping to serve the country with my own learning, and voluntarily gave up my life that could have been very superior and came to Xinjiang to support construction, and stay for ten years. After coming to Nanjing in 1980, he worked in the Nanjing oil refinery for seven years. Due to the needs of development and construction at that time, the overseas Chinese affairs department in Jiangsu needed a staff member who could communicate with and serve overseas Chinese. Because of my returned overseas Chinese identity and special experience, in 1987, I was transferred to the overseas Chinese office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government’s Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and since then I took up the position of overseas Chinese affairs. Later, I served as the chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, forming a strong and inexhaustible relationship with the overseas Chinese group. Overseas Chinese are groups with deep feelings for family and country. They have made great contributions to the motherland, both during the War of Resistance Against Japan and after the founding of New China in . During the War of Resistance Against Japan, they donated planes and transported talents to the Communist army, and even gave up a stable life overseas and returned to their motherland to participate in the War of Resistance. The country's economic construction is also inseparable from the support of overseas Chinese. In the early days of reform and opening up, the first person to dare to invest in China was not foreigners, but overseas Chinese who were full of affection for the motherland.
However, when overseas Chinese just returned to China, they were inevitably nervous because of their lack of understanding of the national conditions and investment environment. I am an overseas Chinese and have a good understanding of the living habits and thinking of overseas Chinese. Under such circumstances, as a staff member of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, I took the initiative to assume the responsibility of contacting overseas Chinese, publicize the achievements of the motherland's development and construction, build a bridge of communication between them and the motherland, and earnestly handle every matter proposed by overseas Chinese.
