Mid-Autumn Festival activities in many places in Guangdong
superimposed on the word "intangible cultural heritage elements"
Mid-Autumn Festival, which was first seen in "The Book of Zhou". In "Book of Tang Dynasty: Records of Taizong", there is a record of " August 1 Mid-Autumn Festival ". On May 20, 2006, the "Mid-Autumn Festival" was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. Since 2008, the Mid-Autumn Festival has been listed as a national statutory holiday by the State Council. This year's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday will be from September 10 to 12, 2022, for a total of 3 days.
Mid-Autumn Festival revolves around the "moon". Different places have different folk customs and food customs, and they all have the meaning of "reunion" of the full moon. Activities such as watching the moon, tasting moon cakes, and enjoying lanterns are held. As an intangible cultural heritage activity, the "Mid-Autumn Festival" has become "it comes with its own traffic". This year, the Mid-Autumn Festival activities in many places in Guangdong have been superimposed on "intangible cultural heritage elements", consciously integrating the "intangible cultural heritage" gene into modern activities that citizens like, including guqin appreciation, museum ancient style camping, Mid-Autumn Festival reunion family banquet, etc. The lantern appreciation activities of some projects also promote "low-carbon and environmental protection", becoming a bright color of the Lingnan Festival.
