USB Type-C interface is one of the most widely used interfaces at present. Because it adopts the USB 3.1 standard, it has higher transmission rate and charging efficiency compared to the traditional micro-USB interface, as well as thinner design and double-sided plug-in and unplugging.
Due to these characteristics, the latest Android mobile phone products have introduced Type-Ch interface, and various third-party data cables are emerging one after another. Currently, most data cable products on the market are made of plastic. This cable has good durability, but its resistance to pull and wear resistance is very bad. The wire is often broken and damaged due to accidental pulling and squeezing.
Therefore, many stronger and tougher braided data lines appear in people's sight. Bulls recently launched Type-C nylon braided data lines for the new generation of Android phones.
Next, let's get to the topic. In addition to the Bull Type-C braided wire mentioned just now, the author found the original data cable of the Huawei mobile phone and the data cable products from the third-party manufacturer Locke.

2. Whether it is durable or not depends on the outside being

So the author pressed three data cables with heavy objects, exposed one end of the Type-C interface and bent it upwards forcefully, and charged at the same time.

All three data cables can be charged normally, but is this violent operation harmful to the outside world?
Huawei original data cable uses the same TPE material as Apple original cable, which is soft and bending, but there are obvious creases after testing. The Locke data cable uses a cheap PVC quilt, which feels a little hard, so it is not bending and has particularly severe creases. Although the Bull Type-C braided thread is made of resistant nylon thread braid, it is actually more flexible than the original data line. At the same time, there are no creases on the surface of this thread, but there are only a small amount of roughness. This quality is still very safe in daily use.

In addition, new flame retardant materials have been added to the TPE protective layer, so consumers can use them with confidence and ease.

Generally speaking, the longer the tail net, the greater the bendable amplitude. From the following test, we can intuitively observe: the author holds the tail net with one hand and continuously pulls the data cable with a larger force on the other hand.
Huawei original data cable is very soft, and the tail net is circled together with the cable. During the winding process, the cable is completely wrapped in the tail net and has a good fit. However, the soft material is a double-edged sword, and the tail net may break after using it for a long time.

Lock data cable tail network is the shortest, and the material is very hard, so the circumference is not large, which has a certain impact on daily use. Moreover, the cable is not completely wrapped, and there are obvious gaps during the circumference process, which is much inferior in workmanship.

Bull Type-C braided wire tail net is the longest, the material is moderately soft and hard, so it can still be bent at a large scale during the winding process. The cable is completely wrapped in the tail net and has a good fit, taking into account both practicality and service life, which is enough to meet daily use needs.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that the USB interface of traditional data cables usually uses tinplate material, and it is easy to cause rust and corrosion when used for a long time. The USB-A connector of Bull Type-C braided wire is made of 304 stainless steel, which can avoid rust.
The author used iron-sucking stone to suck the USB-A connectors of these three data cables. The first two models were instantly sucked, while the Bull Type-C braided thread did not move at all.

4. Charging performance test
After chatting with the outer and tail network, let’s take a look at the charging performance of these data cables. The test tool is a USB voltage ammeter.

Lockey data cable's current stable transmission current is 1.73A, which is 0.22A lower than the original data cable, which is slightly inferior.

Bull Type-C braided wire performed well in this link, with a stable transmission current value of 2.27A, which is higher than Huawei's original data cable and Lock Data Line 0.32A and 0.54A respectively. The higher current output means that the more current is charged to the phone in the same time, the faster the charging speed.

Based on the test of the three data lines just now, the following brief table is obtained. The horizontal axis is time (s) and the vertical axis is current (A).
It is a good thing to charge quickly, so will it damage the electronic device if it charges too much power at once? Don't worry, the Bull Type-C braided wire has a built-in thermal protection resistor. When an abnormal temperature or short circuit occurs when an electronic device is charged, the data cable will actively cut off the power supply to ensure the safety of the charged device.
5. Speed and stability of data transmission
In addition to charging electronic devices, data transmission is also an important factor in judging the quality of the data cable.
Huawei original data cable had little fluctuations in the first half of the test, and it was relatively stable. However, the data transmission time would have a large fluctuation, so this data cable may be more difficult to transfer large-capacity files.

From the software test diagram, we can see that the transmission of the Lock data cable is very unstable, with several large fluctuations, and the minimum value is only 6.1MB/s. This data cable also has a considerable disadvantage in data transmission.

Bull Type-C braided line performed very stably throughout the test process, with an average transmission rate of 32.7MB/s, higher than the 32MB/s of the original data cable and 30.1MB/s of the Locke data cable. The CUP occupancy rate is only half of the previous two data cables, showing efficient and stable transmission performance.
