China Taiwan Network March 26th According to Taiwan's "China Times Electronic News", former New Taipei City Speaker Chen Xingjin died of throat cancer at home at 2 pm today (26th) at the age of 75. It is expected that the mourning hall will be opened at No. 300, Section 1, Ziqiang Road, Sanchong District, , New Taipei City from tomorrow (27th) for relatives and friends from all walks of life to pay condolences.
Chen Xingjin has been in politics for nearly 30 years and is a senior "legislator" from the three regions of the Kuomintang. He has served as a member of Taipei County, the Speaker of Taipei County and the First Speaker of New Taipei City. He has a broad life and travels, and locals call him "gem". After Chen Xingjin was re-elected as a New Taipei City Councilor in 2014, he was reported to have throat cancer and was hospitalized for treatment in 2016, but his condition has been unstable, and even news of critical illness has been reported several times. In the 2018 New Taipei City Councilor election, he no longer ran for re-election due to illness.
The Kuomintang’s “Chairman of the New Taipei City Party Committee” Li Qianlong pointed out that Chen Xingjin urgently installed Ye Ke membrane (an external cardiopulmonary circulatory system, an emergency device that combines respiratory and circulation aids) in the National Taiwan University Hospital in early March due to the worsening of his condition. His family decided to take him home and passed away at 2 pm. It is expected that from tomorrow, the mourning hall will be opened at No. 300, Section 1, Ziqiang Road, Sanchong District, New Taipei City for the condolences and greetings of relatives and friends from all sides.
