The case was a person from other provinces who were transferred to Chongqing abroad. At present, all close contacts with have undergone monkeypox nucleic acid tests, and the results are all negative. After national and municipal experts' analysis, the case was immediately isolated when entering Chongqing, with no social activity trajectory and the risk of epidemic transmission is low.
According to the notice, after the case entered Chongqing, it was subject to closed-loop transportation and centralized isolation in accordance with the requirements of the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. During routine health monitoring during the centralized isolation, symptoms such as rash were found. In accordance with the requirements of the Chongqing Municipal "Notice on Doing a Good Job in Monkey Pox Monitoring", the epidemic prevention personnel sampled the incoming personnel and carried out nucleic acid test for monkeypox virus. After laboratory testing of Chongqing Center for Disease Control and Prevention and review by of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the laboratory results showed that the monkeypox virus nucleic acid was positive, and experts from the national organization diagnosed them as a confirmed case of monkeypox. The case is undergoing centralized isolation and treatment in designated hospitals, and the situation is stable. Up to now, the nucleic acid test for of the new coronavirus in this case is negative.
After the outbreak of monkeypox, the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attached great importance to it and directed, dispatched, arranged and deployed prevention, control and disposal work as soon as possible. The Chongqing Municipal Health Commission acted quickly and promptly reported to the National Health Commission and the National Disease Control and Prevention Bureau in . Under its guidance, it organized municipal experts to rush to the scene to guide the epidemiological investigation, sampling and testing, environmental item disinfection and other work.

2. How to identify monkeypox symptoms
From the patient's clinical manifestations, the initial symptoms of infection of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, lymph node swollen , etc., which can then develop into a large-scale rash on the face and body. This outbreak of monkeypox mainly occurs in non-traditional endemic areas. Patients have atypical clinical symptoms, and the condition is relatively mild. Rash or skin lesions occur in almost all cases. The rash lesions are mainly limited to the genital, perineal, perianal or perianal areas and usually do not spread further. About half of the cases have symptoms such as fever, pain and lymph node enlargement.
Most infected people will recover within a few weeks. Severe cases are common in young children, the elderly, and people with low immune function. If timely medical services are not available, death may occur.
3. From the transmission route, monkeypox prevention
monkeypox virus has similarities with smallpox virus and has cross-immune protection effects. In other words, people who have been vaccinated with smallpox vaccine have a protective effect on preventing monkeypox. In 1980, the World Health Organization announced the global elimination of smallpox, that is, people born before have been vaccinated with smallpox vaccines and have a certain degree of immunity to monkeypox. People born thereafter are no longer vaccinated with smallpox vaccine and are generally susceptible to monkeypox. From the perspective of population age structure, people over 42 years old, that is, those in my country who account for about half of the total population, are immune to monkeypox. Therefore, there is no need for general vaccination in the population to prevent monkeypox. Judging from the recent vaccination strategies of European and American countries to control the monkeypox epidemic, strengthening epidemic testing for key groups and focusing on high-risk groups can achieve the effect of controlling the epidemic.
The transmission method of monkeypox is relatively complex, including contact with lesion exudates, blood, etc. of infected animals or being bitten or scratched by infected animals; and in this wave of monkeypox epidemic spreading from European and American countries to the world, close contact between people is the main transmission method, including direct skin contact, contact with items contaminated by patient secretions or lesion exudates, etc. Monkeypox can also be spread through shared towels, bedding, tableware and other items. Although men and men in European and American countries account for the vast majority of monkeypox cases, this does not mean that they are all infected by sexual contact, and the possibility of direct contact of the body and skin is greater.
In order to prevent possible monkeypox infection, it is also the content of our daily healthy lifestyle. It is recommended: 1) Do not have direct skin contact with foreigners; 2) Do not have skin contact with people who have returned from abroad recently (within three weeks); 3) Do not have skin contact with strangers; 4) Pay attention to good hand hygiene; 5) Use public toilets, including toilets in hotels on business trips, if you use toilets, use disposable toilet paper as much as possible.
