Sergeant Lin, who was driving a military vehicle, argued that the poor vision was caused by " sunshine is too dazzling", which affected driving. The police have initially ruled out the possibility of drunk driving and are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

When they passed through the road section involved, they suddenly deviated from the lane and ran into multiple private cars next to the road. After the police arrived, they conducted a alcohol test on Lin and confirmed that the alcohol in the body did not exceed the standard. The Sixth Corps Command of the Taiwan Army, which belongs to the military vehicle involved, said that the police are investigating the relevant causes.
