On November 24, GasGas released their rally factory team that will compete in the 2022 FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship. After
was merged into KTM Group, GasGas began participating in rally since 2020, with only one driver participating in the battle - the legendary female driver Laia Sanz from Spain. Entering the 2021 season, GasGas played in the Dakar Rally with Sans and then “drawn” the rookie, Daniel Sanders from Australia, from KTM to participate in the competition for the FIM Cross Country Rally World Championships.
In the future 2022 season, the GasGas Factory Team has a strengthened combination: Sanders will be retained, and he will get new teammates - British driver Sam Sunderland, who is also "drawn" from KTM.
GasGas's rally factory racing car is RC450F, which made its debut in the 2020' Dakar Rally. It is believed that it is a model of the same platform from another brand within the parent company, KTM. The one driving car No. 3 is Sunderland, and the one driving car No. 4 is Sanders' racing car.
Sunderland, now 32, participated in Dakar's first competition in 2012. He is the 2017 Dakar Rally Motorcycle Championship and has also won the 2019 annual championship of the FIM Cross-country Rally World Championship. In the following 2022 season, he will first move towards his dream second Dakar Rally champion.
now Sanders, 26, became famous in the 2021 Dakar Rally held in January this year, when he played for the KTM Factory Team, eventually won fourth place in the race and became the best rookie in the 2021 Dakar Rally Motorcycle Group.
In addition, he also won the third place of the year in this year's FIM off-road rally World Championships.
