Since November 2017, respiratory diseases in children have come in full swing. A series of rapid diagnosis projects carried out by the Testing Center of the Capital Institute of Pediatrics have played an important role in responding to the peak of childhood infection. The main testing items included are: respiratory pathogen IgM antibody pentagram (whole blood), Mycoplasma pneumoniae IgM antibody detection (whole blood), respiratory pathogen three tests ( pharyngeal swab ), group A streptococci antigen detection (pharyngeal swab), and Helicobacter pylori antibody detection (whole blood).
1
respiratory pathogen IgM antibody pentagram (whole blood)
main pathogens detected: Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP), Chlamydia pneumoniae (CP), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), adenovirus (ADV), and Coxsackie virus group B (COX B). These pathogens are the main pathogens of respiratory infection in children with .
Applicable symptoms: For outpatient clinics with symptoms such as fever and cough for a long time, these five rapid tests can be performed for children who have ineffective treatment of common colds, giving doctors a better basis for disease diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
Advantages: five antibodies are tested simultaneously, with a total blood volume of 50 microliters. All blood sample types are suitable, and peripheral whole blood is the most popular in the outpatient clinic.
2
Mycoplasma pneumoniae IgM antibody detection (whole blood)
The main pathogen detected: Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
Applicable symptoms: Mycoplasma pneumoniae is an important pathogen of acute respiratory infection in children. It is transmitted through droplets and direct contact, and has a prevalence trend in densely populated environments such as kindergartens and schools. The infection can occur all year round, with winter and spring and autumn being the high incidence of infections, and the main infections are children, adolescents and people with low immunity. After the diagnosis is clear, the use of targeted and effective macrolide antibiotics can significantly shorten the course of the disease and improve symptoms.
Advantages: Pathogenic diagnosis If the time of culture or nucleic acid testing is long and expensive, serological antibody testing for collecting venous blood is not suitable for outpatient children. Therefore, the rapid detection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae IgM antibody peripheral whole blood is welcomed and recognized by outpatient doctors.
3
Three tests for respiratory pathogens (pharyngeal swabs), group A streptococcal antigen detection (pharyngeal swabs)
The main pathogens detected: respiratory syncytial virus, adenovirus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and group A streptococcal antigen detection.
Applicable symptoms: respiratory syncytial virus, adenovirus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is the most common pathogen of respiratory infection in children, especially the important pathogen of in lower respiratory tract infection in . The child has severe symptoms after being infected. If the disease cannot be diagnosed early during outpatient visits, the course of the disease will be prolonged and the chance of complications will be increased. Group A streptococci mainly cause suppurative infections (skin and subcutaneous infections, suppurative tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, otitis media), scarlet fever, rheumatic fever, etc. It is the most common pathogen in bacterial infections in children and adolescents. Incomplete removal of pathogens may cause adverse complications such as delayed infection, immune damage to the heart and kidneys, etc. Early diagnosis of group A streptococci infection is of great help to the use of early sensitive antibiotics, and also provides strong evidence for the rational use of antibiotics.
Advantages: The three tests of respiratory pathogen antigens of and the sample type of group A streptococcal antigen detection are pharyngeal swabs. The method is to directly collect the mucosa or secretions of the throat to detect pathogens. It can react positively in the latent period, acute period or early stage of the disease, and it is quickly and convenient to obtain in the early stage. The best choice for the diagnosis of respiratory diseases in pediatric patients is the method of collecting nasopharyngeal swabs, because it is a non-invasive method and is easy for parents and children to accept.
4
Helicobacter pylori antibody detection (whole blood)
The main pathogen detected: Helicobacter pylori.
Applicability: Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative spirori , which is commonly found in the antrum and pyloric areas of humans. It secretes highly active urea enzyme and catalase, leading to the inflammatory response of the host, and is the main pathogenic factor of chronic active gastritis and peptic ulcers. Helicobacter pylori infection is family clustering and is a common pathogen that causes chronic gastrointestinal infection in children.
Advantages: tests for Helicobacter pylori infection in children include 13C expiration test, stool antigen test, intravenous blood test, etc., which are very challenging for the degree of cooperation and convenience of retention of children, and the results cannot be issued quickly. The Helicobacter pylori antibody test conducted by the test center, the specimen type can be in addition to serum and plasma. The positive result indicates whether the child has a prevalent infection or previous infection, which is used for the clinician to consider the preliminary screening of children with Helicobacter pylori infection. The above-mentioned rapid diagnosis project carried out by the Shoujian School Testing Center is open 24 hours a year, with a result issuance time of 30-60 minutes. It can provide clear pathogenic and antibody diagnosis for the clinical diagnosis, and facilitate clinical, especially outpatient clinicians to provide accurate and effective treatment for infected children.
