( Observer Network News) On the 20th local time, the White House website released a statement on Biden regarding the resignation of Trass as British Prime Minister .
The statement reads, "The fact that the United States and Britain are strong allies and lasting friends - this fact will never change. I thank Prime Minister Leeds Tras for his cooperation with us on a range of issues, including his statement on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. We will continue to work closely with the British government to jointly respond to the global challenges faced by countries."
Previously, at 1:30 pm local time on October 20, Tras, who had only served as British Prime Minister for 45 days, announced his resignation.
Tras issued a statement at Downing Street saying that she was in office in a "time of extreme economic and international instability" and that she was unable to fulfill the mission given to her by the members of the Conservative Party when she elected her, so she would resign.
Tras went on to say she met with Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of the Conservative Party’s 1922 committee, today, who agreed to hold the party’s top election next week. She added that she will continue to serve as prime minister until she elects her successor.
