In the fourth quarter, the water level of the trunk line of the Yangtze River gradually changed from intermittent to dryness, the channel scale gradually deteriorated, navigation conditions generally deteriorated, and the risk of accidents such as hitting reefs and stranding increased; the fourth quarter is a traditional busy period of water transportation, with large ship flow, frequent crossing of routes, frequent ship production operations, and high risk of accidents such as collisions and employee injuries; in autumn and winter, severe air conditions such as cold waves, strong winds, and haze are prone to frequent occurrence, and some river sections are prone to strong winds and waves, and small ships are prone to self-sinking; in winter, crew heating demand increases, and ship circuit load increases, making fire/explosion accidents are prone to occur.
The following are some typical accident cases that occurred in the fourth quarter of the Yangtze River main line in the past five years. All ship companies and water practitioners are asked to learn deeply about the accident lessons, strictly implement safety responsibilities, and strengthen safety prevention in a targeted manner:
First, strengthen risk prevention during dry seasons.
grasps the changes in the waterway and navigation environment of the planned passing section in advance, effectively controls the draft of the ship, drives cautiously, and prevents accidents caused by blind operations.
The second is to correctly deal with bad air conditions.
Strengthen the collection of safe navigation information such as water level, fog, cold waves and strong winds, adjust the ship's navigation plan in a timely manner, obey the on-site control of the maritime department, and prevent accidents caused by risky navigation.

At around 0120 o'clock on December 9, 2020, the "XG" ship (carrying 1800 tons of gypsum, Yichang to Huangshi ) descended to the Sunliangzhou waters of the Chibakou Waterway (the mileage of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is about 255 kilometers). Due to deviation from the route, it collided with the upward "CJ" ship (carrying 4316 tons of coal, Taicang to the public security), causing the "CJ" ship to be damaged; the "XG" ship stranded on the beach on the south bank, and the bow of the ship was inflowed.

At around 0434:00 on October 20, 2017, the "JY" wheel (carrying 8,000 tons of coal, Yangzhou - Chenglingji ) went up to Qichun Waterway Qichun Bay #1 Red Floating about 250 meters and about 820 meters from the water foam line on the north bank (the mileage of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River was about 873.5 kilometers), and because of the wrong route and neglect of looking, it collided with the downward "A" wheel (no load, Huangshi- Jiangyin ) and the "W" wheel (carrying 1,900 tons of yellow sand, Wuhan- Jiujiang ), causing damage to three wheels to varying degrees.

self-sinking accident
At around 202:00 on November 9, 2018, the "WJ" wheel (carried about 3,000 tons of yellow sand, Wuhan to Wuhu ) turned around and broke down in the waters outside the waters of the waters of the waterway of the Wuhu Baimao Waterway #189 Hongfu (the mileage of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River) due to improper cargo accumulation and the hull breaking and sinking. All three people fell into the waters on the ship, two of whom were rescued and one died.

October 16, 2017, at around 0948:00, the tugboat "EH" ship encountered strong winds and waves during its voyage from Madang to Anqing . Due to improper operation, the ship overturned about 200 meters in Taoshutan waters in the Taoshutan waters of the east flow channel and about 400 meters from the water foam line on the left bank (the mileage of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River) and all three people fell into the water, one of whom was rescued, one died, and one disappeared.

Caused accident
At around 0405:00 on December 28, 2020, when the "YC" ship (carrying cement clinker 2349 tons, Fengdu to Shashi) descended to the Dengjiatuo Waters of Zhong County (the mileage of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River is about 429.5 kilometers), due to improper operation and deviation from the course, the ship hit the reef on the north shore, and water entered the first cabin on the starboard side, and then rescued itself on the nearby Dengjiatuo slope, and then sank due to excessive water inlet.

At around 0721:00 on November 25, 2018, the "YS" ship (carrying 800 tons of stone powder, Shichang Yinhe Bridge to Jialing River Shimen) descended to the Rolling Pearl Water (the mileage of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River is about 702.3 kilometers). The ship was not equipped with the radar and the driver was improperly operated, which eventually led to a rock run.

Fire/Explosion Accident
At around 0334:00 on December 3, 2020, when the "X" wheel (carrying 5,700 cubic meters of wood, Zhenjiang to Jiujiang) went up to the waters of Xingou Tower-shaped side shore mark about 750 meters and about 300 meters away from the water foam line on the north bank (the mileage of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River is about 452 kilometers), a fire was caused by a fault in the electrical circuit of the power supply line in the front left storage room of the first floor, causing all the superstructures above the main deck of the wheel part to be burned out, and one person died.

Stranding Accident
At around 0400 o'clock on December 1, 2019, the "X" ship (carrying 3,900 tons of gravel) descended to the waters near Hongfu in Zhougongdi Waterway #1 (the mileage of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is about 418 kilometers), and was stranded in the waterway due to excessive draft (the actual draft exceeds the waterway maintenance depth of 0.5 meters).

At around 0620:00 on November 12, 2019, when the "C" ship (carrying 2836 tons of gasoline, from Yizheng, Jiangsu to Luzhou, Sichuan) went up to the waters near Baifu, Shengzhongba #2, Jiangjin Shengzhongba #2 (the mileage of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River is about 765 kilometers), the ship was stranded and the hull was partially deformed due to improper operation of the driver and deviating from the upward route.

Other Accidents
At around 0940:00 on December 12, 2016, the "YN" wheel carrying 4,600 tons of sulfur was unloaded at the Songzi Cheyang River Comprehensive Wharf, three crew members successively inhaled harmful gases in the rear drainage tank and died of poisoning.
