People's Daily, Beijing, December 9 (Reporter Yang Xi) Data released today by the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in November 2021, the national consumer price (CPI) rose by 2.3% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month. On average from January to November, the national consumer price rose by 0.9% compared with the same period last year.
Dong Lijuan, senior statistician of the Urban Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, said that from a month-on-month perspective, due to the combined impact of seasonal factors, rising costs and sporadic epidemics, the CPI growth rate has declined. The year-on-year increase in CPI in November expanded significantly, in addition to being affected by the new price increase this month, it was mainly affected by the low base in the same period last year.

CPI year-on-year growth rate increased by 0.8 percentage points compared with the previous month
Data shows that in November 2021, the national consumer price rose by 2.3% year-on-year. Among them, cities rose by 2.4%, rural areas rose by 2.2%, food prices rose by 1.6%, non-food prices rose by 2.5%, consumer goods prices rose by 2.9%, and service prices rose by 1.5%. On average from January to November, the national consumer price rose by 0.9% compared with the same period last year.
Among them, food prices turned from a year-on-year decrease of 2.4% last month to a 1.6%, affecting the CPI increase by about 0.30 percentage points. Among foods, pork prices fell by 32.7%, a decrease of 11.3 percentage points from the previous month; fresh vegetables prices rose by 30.6%, a increase of 14.7 percentage points from the previous month; eggs, freshwater fish and edible vegetable oil prices rose by 20.1%, 18.0% and 9.7% respectively. Non-food prices rose by 2.5%, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous month, affecting the CPI increase by about 2.04 percentage points. Among non-food products, the prices of industrial consumer goods rose by 3.9%, an increase of 0.1 percentage point, of which gasoline and diesel prices rose by 36.7% and 40.6% respectively, and the increase continued to expand; the service prices rose by 1.5%, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous month.
Dong Lijuan pointed out that it is estimated that in the year-on-year increase of 2.3% in November, the tail-strike impact of price changes last year was about 0.6 percentage points, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from the previous month; the impact of new price increases was about 1.7 percentage points, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from the previous month. Excluding food and energy prices, the core CPI of core rose 1.2% year-on-year, down 0.1 percentage point from the previous month.
CPI month-on-month increase fell by 0.3 percentage points from the previous month
Data shows that in November, the national consumer price rose by 0.4% month-on-month. Among them, cities rose 0.3%, rural areas rose 0.6%, food prices rose 2.4%, non-food prices remained the same; consumer goods prices rose 0.9%, and service prices fell 0.3%.
Among them, food prices rose by 2.4% month-on-month, an increase of 0.7 percentage points from the previous month, affecting the CPI increase by about 0.43 percentage points. Dong Lijuan analyzed that in food, due to factors such as the growth of seasonal consumption demand and the tight supply of fat pigs in the short term, the pork price turned from a decline to a rise of 12.2%; localities took multiple measures to ensure the supply of " vegetable basket ". As the number of vegetables gradually increased, the price increase of fresh vegetables fell sharply by 9.8 percentage points compared with the previous month. Non-food prices turned flat from a 0.4% increase last month. Among non-foods, the prices of industrial consumer goods rose by 0.3%, a decrease of 0.6 percentage points from the previous month. Among them, the prices of gasoline, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas rose by 3.1%, 3.3% and 1.2%, respectively, a decrease of 0.3% from the previous month. The price of service changed from 0.1% to a decrease of 0.3%. Affected by the decrease in travel after the holiday and the spread of the epidemic, the prices of air tickets, travel agency fees and hotel accommodation fell by 14.8%, 3.8% and 3.7% respectively.
