Today we gather together to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and wish our great motherland toward a better future. Here, on behalf of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, I would like to extend holiday congratulations to the people of all ethnic groups across the country! I would like to extend my cordial greetings to compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese! I would like to express my sincere thanks to international friends who care about and support China's modernization cause!

This year we solemnly celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, people of all ethnic groups across the country have united and fought hard, and the development achievements of New China in the past 72 years have attracted worldwide attention, especially the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects as scheduled, and has embarked on a new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country. This year is the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan". Under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, the whole country coordinates epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, effectively responds to complex and severe international environment and multiple challenges such as epidemics and floods, continuously deepens reform and opening up to enhance development momentum, effectively implements macro policies to help enterprises alleviate difficulties, actively promotes entrepreneurship and innovation to strengthen new momentum, and China's economy continues to recover and develop, demonstrating strong resilience and huge potential. Sports athletes have achieved great results in the Olympics, Paralympics and National Games, people's lives have been continuously improved, and various undertakings have made new progress and shown new atmosphere.

We still have many difficulties and challenges on the road ahead. We have a long way to go to achieve the second centenary goal. Development is the foundation and key to solving all problems in China. We must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and in accordance with the requirements of based on the new development stage, implementing new development concepts, building a new development pattern, and promoting high-quality development, we must do a good job in normalized epidemic prevention and control, strengthen cross-cycle adjustment, continue to implement macro policies around the needs of market entities, stabilize reasonable expectations, and do a good job in key tasks such as scientific and technological innovation, expanding domestic demand, and rural revitalization, enhance the stability and coordination of development, improve green and safe development capabilities, keep the economy running within a reasonable range, and promote the long-term improvement of China's economy.
Reform and opening up is China's basic national policy and the fundamental driving force for promoting China's development in the future. We must comprehensively deepen reforms and make new and greater progress in reforms in important areas and key links. Adhere to the direction of socialist market economy reform, adhere to the "two unshakable", fully mobilize the enthusiasm of all parties, create a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment, cultivate and strengthen market entities, treat all types of market entities equally, maintain fair competition, protect property rights and intellectual property rights, and further stimulate market vitality and social creativity. Promote high-level and institutional opening up, expand international cooperation, deepen exchanges and mutual learning, and expand space for mutual benefit and win-win results.
What the people want and what they want to govern. We must do our best and act within our abilities, and do more thoughtful and practical measures to do what the people expect. Employment is the biggest livelihood of the people. We must take multiple measures to increase employment and broaden market-oriented employment channels. Consolidate and expand the results of poverty alleviation and continue to promote the development of poverty-stricken areas. The elderly care, medical care and housing are related to hundreds of millions of families, and they must make progress every year in ensuring these basic livelihoods. Strive to reduce the burden of childbirth, raising and education. We must promote fair opportunities, encourage entrepreneurship, innovation and creation, promote urban and rural residents' income growth in labor struggle, and continuously improve people's livelihood and welfare in the continuous development.

We will continue to fully and accurately implement the policies of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people govern Hong Kong", "Macao people govern Macao" and high autonomy, safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, promote the common development and progress of Hong Kong, Macao and the mainland of the motherland, promote continuous improvement of people's livelihood, and maintain long-term prosperity and stability.
We will adhere to the major policies and guidelines for work on Taiwan, adhere to the one-China principle and the "1992 Consensus", rely on the welfare of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and the reunification of the motherland, resolutely oppose and curb any "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and interference from external forces, and jointly create a better future for national rejuvenation.
As the largest developing country, China will focus on doing its own thing well, unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development, promote the construction of a new type of international relations, promote the improvement of global governance, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
