The goal of the second Pokémon Sun/Moon global event is still related to capturing Pokémon, but this time, only 1 million players around the world need to catch or defeat 1 million, but there are still limited conditions: these million Pokémon must be Pokémon identified through island scanning.
Island-wide scan is a newly added system in "Pokemon Sun/Moon". Players scan 10 QR codes in the "QR Scan" option and will accumulate an island-wide scan. After using the island-wide scan, a rare Pokémon that is not normally encountered will appear at a location on the map. Go to the designated location within an hour and the player can encounter it.
