This work will not be available in theaters
Netflix signed a new agreement with Legend Pictures to obtain full copyright to the latest works of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series.
The Hollywood Reporter pointed out that this upcoming horror film will not be released in theaters, but will be exclusively broadcast by Netflix.
2021 rebooted version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a direct sequel to the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), ignoring the plot of other previous movies in the series. The broadcast date of this game has not been announced yet and is expected to be launched within this year.
Since its release in the 1970s, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre has become one of the most influential horror movies, with the iconic Skin Face and Freddy Kruger (Ghost Street) and Jason Heworth (Friday 13th) becoming representative figures of American horror movies.
In fact, this is not the first time Netflix and Legend Pictures have reached a similar agreement. The two sides cooperated when discussing the broadcast of Miss Sherlock Holmes on Netflix, starring Millie Poppy Brown, and the result was very successful. Neflix said Miss Sherlock Holmes received 76 million views, and the sequel to the film is currently in production.
