RF-9000 appeared on the Japanese Buyee website. It is the "king of radio" in the era of heavy-duty multi-band "portable".

In recent years, RF-9000 with excellent LNIB conditions has been sold for over $10,000.

9000 As a representative radio product of that era, its features were the main speaker volume and PLL technology that could fill the room, which was advanced at the time. The shortwave receiver part of

9000 is subject to PLL artifacts? (PLL artifact) troubles, if the Panasonic engineer does not solve this problem in advance, the machine still has design flaws.

A few years ago, I bought the LNIB RF-9000 for nearly $5,000 and sold it to a Hong Kong collector for $10,000. While I do miss its amazing FM quality and appearance, the receiver ends up lagging behind other products like the SONY CRF-330K and 320.

In my opinion, this 9000 seems to have decorative problems and the asking price is very high.

Ron F:

RF-9000 Several years after the release, I worked in a ham shop where we exhibited one. Not sure what they will do in the end, they never became Panasonic agents, but it was in perfect condition and could only be taken out of the locked display cabinet and displayed on rare occasions to satisfy the curiosity of the special customers. A radio is definitely like a heavy tank, about 20 kg (without the battery), plus a kilogram or two more battery, we have to take it very carefully off the shelves.

I remember it's excellent on FM and is very sensitive on LW/MW/SW band . But, as Dan pointed out, there are PLL noises and howling sounds everywhere from LW to SW. I always thought it was a very special radio, just like the Karl Benz (Karl Benz) 3-wheeled car is a very special car, completely unrealistic, full of malfunctions and problems, but very futuristic...

stunning radio; a pity it's the problem. This is one of the best and most intuitive radios I have ever seen to receive global broadcasts.
