Jinping pointed out that regional and global growth, sustainable development and prosperity cannot be achieved through unilateralism and protectionism, and the importance of multilateralism is therefore more prominent. China firmly opposes unilateralism and protectionism, and works with other countries to promote inclusive, sustainable, equal and reciprocal economic globalization, pursues development opportunities, and plays a key role in maintaining confidence in multilateralism and globalization.

Jinping also mentioned that the soon-to-be-in-one Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) is also an important victory for multilateralism. It will benefit relevant countries, promote diversified product development, and open up more markets.
