2020 Taipei Wanhua " Mengjia Shop" was launched at the Longshan Cultural and Creative Base from November 27 to December 13. This year, there are still 5 classic themes, but with last year's traditional routes: lanterns, incense making, Buddha statues, pastries and grass, changed to "printing, haircuts, metalworking, embroidery, green grass", cleverly integrating Wanhua's traditions with new brands, and you will see the classic industry Dongxin Printing and Taipei Red Rose Haircut Hall, Jinhegui Yinlou, Nanxin Embroidery Village, Anan Qingcao Store, as well as the illustration brand "Man. Re", Yishe team "Walker", metalworking brand "Nagijiacuo Hand Road Metalworking", fiber creation brand "Potatogiraffe", cooking creation brand "Rouge", "outside" and "lichen waste" that is good at curating old objects. We look forward to creating infinite possibilities for inheriting and reinnovating Wanhua classics with different curation techniques that are different from the general curatorial techniques that simply convey the spirit of professionals.
5 major theme/industry cross-generation competition
mangjia Pinchang co-curator discovers story CEO Chen Shizhe said that the idea of planning the Pinchang special exhibition is because he grew up in Wanhua since childhood. While exploring the city and self-identity, he felt that there are too many wonderful stories hidden under the stereotype of Wanhua in this old city, waiting to be discovered by more people. Since 2019, with the support of Taipei City Cultural Bureau and local professional brands, we have cooperated with Ruby Lin from "Hi! Kidult" to create a platform for exchange, inheritance and innovation between classic brands and new brands through the tense theme of "Mongjia Shop", and see the infinite possibilities of Mongjia through curatorial performance.

Topic 3, Metalworking: "Jin Hegui" in the century-old Silver House and the metalworking brand "Nagi and House"
"Jin Hegui Zhong Chunzhong originally believed that in the past, Taiwan's views on metalworking creators had not been upgraded to the artistic level and had not been respected by the corresponding. If the young generation did not constantly study and improve in the field of metalworking, it would be difficult to have a future. However, after communicating with the metalworking brand "Bao Jiacuo Hand Road Metalworking", I saw the mini microscopes, scissors, embroidered embroidery frames and other works made by Beijiacuo with meticulous metalworking technology. I admired it very much, and believed that with their fine work and creativity, they should be able to open a different path in the field of metalworking. Zhong Chunzhong also took out his treasured gold ornament design manuscript "Hua Book" (official name is "A Collection of Practical Pictures of Gold and Silver Fine Works" published in 1930) to introduce the story of traditional gold ornaments. Gong Jiacuo also shares many touching stories hidden in the works in the past customized works.
Jinhe Guiyinlou Zhong Chunzhong introduced the gold artworks created every year in the past, the fine scissors made by the two generations of staff, and they can be used for paper cutting.
theme 4, embroidery: Fujian embroidery inherits "Nanxin Embroidery Village" takes out a 16-foot huge Eight Immortal Creative Brand "potatogiraffe" to fight with the newly created "Dark Eight Immortals" shawl. In the embroidery theme, Aibo of the fiber creation brand Potatogiraffe visited Nanxin Embroidery Village, which inherited Fujian embroidery skills, and because they were all engaged in embroidery craftsmanship, they had many common topics with embroidery master Wu Shumei. Wu Shumei also shared her secrets in private, such as using rice soup to slurry to make the silk cloth smooth and easy to embroider, and the trick of scattering the pattern through tracing paper, needles and prickly heat powder. These gave Aibo a new impact on his creative techniques and style, and presented it through the "Dark Eight Immortals Shawl" created for this special exhibition.
