[Pacific Automobile Network Industry Channel] Recently, BorgWarner held the 2022 IAA Review and Commercial Vehicle Innovation Technology Online Sharing Session. BorgWarner Vice President, Thermal Energy and Turbocharger Systems and General Manager of Asia, Mr. Chris Lanker introduced the implementation of the "Plane and Move" strategy in China at the meeting. Since the release of the "Plane and Move" strategy in 2021, BorgWarner has achieved its 2025 organic sales target for electric vehicles. Although the development of the commercial vehicle market has been restricted this year due to the impact of the epidemic, China's commercial vehicle market is still one of the largest markets in the world.

BorgWarner announced last week that it had acquired Hubei Zhuiri Electric Co., Ltd. (SSE) charging and electrification business. In April this year, BorgWarner completed the acquisition of Songzheng light vehicle motor business. As a result, BorgWarner further consolidated its leadership in the electric drive system and charging business and complemented its global business landscape.

At the sharing session, BorgWarner showed off its innovative commercial vehicle solutions exhibited at the Hannover International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition (IAA), including the first high-energy compact battery system. The system can be stacked to make full use of the installation space and has a height range of 10 to 12 cm, making it ideal for underbody structures in light passenger cars and the like.

In addition, BorgWarner's new high-power electronic fan eFan system has also received unanimous praise. The system combines cooling fans, motors and inverters to cool components such as drive motors, batteries and electronic components in commercial electric vehicles. A fully sealed package ensures long-term reliable operation of the system, and the technology has a wide operating range from below 650 volts to up to 850 volts.
