Some time ago, as the price of LCD panels plummeted, the price of domestic TVs began to decline, especially when it encountered 618, the large-screen smart TVs of various brands fell to a bargain price. The 55-inch 4K TVs are about 1,000 yuan, and the 75-inch large-screen TVs are less than 3,000 yuan. The reason behind this is that the price of LCD panels plummeted this year, and the price plummeted again in June.
It is understood that LCD panels fell below cash costs not long ago. Three major brands, including BOE , have cut production capacity to cope with the price decline. They were originally expected to converge the price decline, but recently it was reported that Samsung also shut down the LCD business in advance. Last year, due to the increase in panel prices, Samsung extended the exit time originally scheduled to be at the end of 2021 to the end of this year. This time, the shutdown of LCD factories and workers began to shift to OLED panels in June, resulting in the decline in panel prices this month.
Currently, the large-size LCD panel market is almost all occupied by domestic manufacturers. BOE is the world's first, Huaxing Optoelectronics is the second in the world. South Korea's LCD panel manufacturer Samsung has withdrawn from the LCD panel market, while LGD has reduced the LCD panel production capacity, further consolidating the status of BOE and TCL Huaxing as the world's top two LCD panel manufacturers.
