Peking University
Peking University Library is one of the earliest modern new libraries in China. It was approved by the State Council as the first batch of national key ancient book protection units and has developed into a resource-rich, modern, comprehensive and open research library.
As of the end of 2015, the Peking University Library consisted of the main library, the Medical Library, 38 branches and storage library, with a total area of about 90,000 square meters, of which the total area is about 53,000 square meters and more than 4,000 reading seats.
Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University Library was approved by the State Council as the first batch of national key ancient book protection units, with the goal of building a research-oriented, digital and open and civilized modern library.
As of the end of 2019, the total physical collection of Tsinghua University Library (including professional libraries and departmental information rooms) was about 5.3863 million volumes (pieces) (5125,811 volumes per piece of book and magazine materials, 260,486 cultural relics and display items); the library system consists of the general library and six professional libraries including liberal arts, economics and management, law, architecture, art and finance. The total area of the building is more than 70,000 square meters, and the reading seats are about 4,800 seats.
Chongqing University
Chongqing University Library is located at No. 174, Shazheng Street, Shapingba District, Chongqing City. It is one of the largest libraries in the western region of China. Founded in October 1930, it is a comprehensive and research-oriented university library.
Chongqing University Library has six professional branches: the Science and Engineering Library, Architecture Library, Humanities and Social Science Library, Huxi Library, Historical Document Center, Science Branch, and a Shequ Library (Songyuan Bookstore, Huxi Campus). The building area is 64,410 square meters, and the reading seats are 5,426
Shantou University
Shantou University Library is an important part of Shantou University built by Li Ka-shing. It is a comprehensive and open library of higher education institutions.
The library is designed to be self-contained. The appearance shows the elegant structure of the line-contained book, and the connotation space contains the meaning of the traditional academy garden space.
Suzhou University
Suzhou University Library was founded in 1903. The Lintang of Soochow University was completed. The school library moved to a large room on the southeast of the second floor and a library committee was established. Mr. Lu Fumei was appointed as the first full-time administrator.
Suzhou University’s Binglin Library is a national key protection unit for ancient books, and looks like a "crystal lotus".
Beijing Foreign Language University
Beijing Foreign Language University Library was built in 1941 and was formerly the Yan'an Foreign Language School Library. The library consists of the South Library and the North Library, with an area of about 10,000 square meters and 1,000 reading seats. The multilingual decorative wall on the outside of the gate of the new museum consists of 55 languages. The bricks on the exterior wall are made into hollow designs, and each brick is engraved with the writing of the "library" in a different language.
Tianjin University
Tianjin University Library was the predecessor of Beiyang University Library. It was established with the school in the 21st year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1895), and was the first among university libraries in the country. The library of the new campus is designed by a team led by a national-level architect and alumnus of Tianda University. The entire space design is centered on the traditional Chinese "yard" model and is full of academy atmosphere.
Shanghai International Studies University
Shanghai International Studies University Library was built in February 1950 and is now composed of the Yifu Library of Hongkou Campus and the Songjiang Campus Library. The Yifu Library in Hongkou Campus has an area of 7,920 square meters. The Songjiang Campus Library is located in the Graphics and Text Information Building with an area of 15,130 square meters.
Wuhan University
Wuhan University Library is the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units and is the "research-level document collection unit" in Hubei Province. is located on the top of Luojia Mountain, which is the highest point of Wuhan University. In front of it are the Sakura Pin, Laozhaishe, and Sakura Castle. The old library has now transformed into the History Museum of Wuhan University.
Shandong University of Science and Technology
Shandong University of Science and Technology Library was merged in 2001 by the merger of Shandong University of Engineering Library and Zibo University Library. According to the official website, the museum currently has an area of 51,891 square meters and 4,686 reading seats. Shifu Library of Shandong University of Science and Technology won the 2008 "Construction Engineering Luban Award".
Yunnan University
Yunnan University Library was founded in 1923. After 97 years of construction, Yunnan University Library has developed into a university library with rich collections, complete functions, reasonable layout, advanced facilities, and can reflect the characteristics of modern comprehensive university libraries. In addition, Yunda Book Garden was built in the Lushi Ancient Town in 2014, and will add another color to Yunda.
