1915, the School of Law of Soochow University (the predecessor of Suzhou University) was established at the original site of Zhongxi Academy on Kunshan Road, Shanghai, and was originally called Soochow University Law. It was changed to the School of Law of Soochow University in 1927, and in 1935, it was changed to the School of Law of Soochow University in . It is the only college in China that systematically teaches British and American law in addition to teaching Chinese law. It was one of the most famous law schools in China before liberation. It was the first comparative law school in Asia and is known as one of the best comparative law schools in the world. It has made great contributions to cultivating comparative law and international legal talents.
In 1947, Jin Yong entered the Law School of Shanghai Soochow University to study international law, which means that after this period of study, Jin Yong became a connection with Suzhou University. In 1948, Jin Yong graduated from the Law School of Soochow University.

In 2000, Jin Yong and Fei Xiaotong , Lei Jieqiong, Sun Qimeng, Zhao Puchu, Ni Zhengriao, Yang Tieliang and Tan Jiazhen were hired as honorary professors at Suzhou University. Jin Yong came to Su University and was warmly welcomed by teachers and students. Professor Qian Peide, who was then the President of Su University, awarded Mr. Jin Yong the honorary professor of Su University on behalf of the school. In the Cunju Hall of Suda Tiancizhuang campus, he gave a lecture entitled "The Humanistic Spirit of Suzhou" to teachers and students.
On the eve of the 100th anniversary of Su University (2000), Mr. Jin Yong wrote a congratulatory message to his alma mater: "To cultivate the righteousness of heaven and earth, the law is perfect for ancient and modern times; Ji Zhawu official Lu Xun Fan Zhongyan is all the best among the people of Wu." The reporter learned that these paintings are now in the Su University Museum.
On September 23, 2007, Jin Yong was awarded the first honorary doctorate at Suzhou University and was invited to give a lecture at Cunju Hall. "Hello, junior brother, junior sister, you guys!" The host introduced Mr. Jin Yong’s life story. Everyone spoke, reviewing their interactions with Mr. Jin Yong, commenting on his literary works, or expressing their nostalgia for him. Wu Peihua, former editor-in-chief of Suda University Press and former editor-in-chief of Tsinghua University Press, said, "I like Jin Yong's works very much. I have three sets of Jin Yong's books at home and read them many times. Every time I teach students Jin Yong's martial arts literature classes, it is full of things. Mr. Jin Yong's 15 works are not only martial arts novels, but also encyclopedias on the road of life." Gu Peng, deputy dean of Suda University Media College, said, "Mr. Jin Yong's greatest influence on me is chivalrous and tenderness. He taught me responsibility and responsibility."
