Police investigations learned that the deceased was Dr. Ning Yongxin, a 49-year-old professor of the seminary. He chatted with a female friend in Bitan in the early morning of the 12th, and was suspected to have accidentally fallen into the water due to drunkenness. The female friends who were walking with him were so scared that they shouted for help. The people nearby rushed over and saw Ning Yongxin who fell into the water.
After the police and firefighters arrived at the scene, Professor Ning's wife also rushed to inquire after hearing the news, looking very worried. After waiting for nearly 2 hours, the firefighters found Professor Ning and salvaged him to the ashore, accompanied him to the hospital for emergency treatment, but because he had been in the water for too long, he was unable to make up for the situation.
The police reviewed the surveillance cameras around the scene on the 12th, hoping to restore the situation before the incident. At the same time, they reported to the prosecutor of the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office for inspection and further investigate the cause of death.
