Kang Yudan.
Kang Yudan graduated from the Department of Vocal Music of Fujian Normal University. He began to engage in choral teaching in 1990 and took over the Fujian Rongshu Choir. For more than 30 years, choirs he has led or permanently conducted include Fujian Rongshu Choir, Fuzhou Artist Xiaorongshu Choir, Fuzhou Teachers Choir, Fujian Cai Jikun Conservatory Choir, Fuzhou Changle Love Voice Choir, Fuqing Overseas Chinese Township Choir, Fujian Provincial Government Ai Min Choir, Fujian Provincial Song and Dance Theater Affiliated Choir, etc.
"The longest time leading the group and won the most awards is the Banyan Tree Choir, which has won more than 10 national gold medals in more than 20 years; the Fuzhou Changle Voice of Love Choir and the Fuqing Overseas Chinese Choir won the bronze medal of the highest award in China's choir; the Fuzhou Teachers Choir won the silver medal in the first national teacher choir competition; the Fujian Provincial Government Ai Min Choir won the gold medal of the 7th Beijing China International Choir Festival Mixed Voice Group..." Speaking of the achievements, Kang Yudan was very proud and was deeply moved by the difficulties of winning the award.
After retiring from the position of director of the art department of Fujian Preschool Normal College a few years ago, he established the "Kang Yudan Chorus Art Studio" and served as the art general consultant of the Fuzhou Primary and Secondary School Chorus, and intervened in chorus rehearsals in primary and secondary schools. "The chorus art studio was established to better and comprehensively improve the chorus command and teaching ability of primary and secondary school music teachers, improve the chorus level of primary and secondary school students, and create more chorus works that are popular among children and meet their age characteristics."
With the support of the Fuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, from 2019 to 2020, Kang Yudan led the studio members to various counties (cities) districts in Fuzhou to teach music teachers for free. He was therefore called the "godfather" of Fuzhou chorus by teachers.
After the efforts of all parties, the chorus has been rapidly popularized and flourished in Fuzhou primary and secondary schools in just a few years. In 2016, there were only more than 20 teams participating in the first Fuzhou Xiaomali Chorus Festival, the number of participating teams increased to more than 60 in the second session, and more than 100 in the third session, and more than 200 in 2020. The Yuying Choir of Fuzhou No. 16 Middle School entered the 6th National Primary and Secondary School Students Art Festival. This year, under the joint guidance of famous teachers such as Kang Yudan, it won the first place in the province's art performance chorus with a song "Oh Ku". This year, it will represent our province in attending the live exhibition of the 7th National Primary and Secondary School Students Art Festival. (Reporter An Zi/Text Ye Cheng/Photo)
