On the 13th local time, International Monetary Fund (IMF) President Georgieva (Kristalina Georgieva) answered a question from a reporter from First Financial News at the press conference on the "President's Global Policy Agenda": "The risk of a global economic recession has risen. The IMF estimates that equivalent to one-third of the world's economic volume will experience negative growth for at least two consecutive quarters. As I said before, the IMF expects that the probability of a global economic recession is currently 25%, which is a risk that cannot be ignored."
However, Georgieva also said that relying on the cooperation of various countries and the resources of the IMF, it is still expected to avoid recession. "Although it's a narrow passage, we still have the resources available in our hands. Just like climbing a mountain, if we hold hands and follow each other's footsteps, we can reach the end," Georgieva added.

Georgieva mentioned at a press conference that the demand for financing for the IMF has increased against the backdrop of declining growth prospects and rising recession risks. At present, the IMF still has more than US$700 billion in funds available.
