reporter noticed that in August last year, Henan University of Science and Technology was the province piloted the academy reform, and established two academies, Lizheng and Heluo , to implement the collaborative management of the academies and colleges for students.
More than a year has passed, how are the two academies operating? What experiences have been summarized as a pilot? What inspiration does it give to other universities by taking the lead in trying out? The reporter conducted an interview.
【1】Difference between academies and colleges
At the end of August last year, Henan University of Science and Technology held a plaque awarding ceremony for Lizheng and Heluo Academy. The two academies were officially established and the reform of the academy system began.

It is understood that the reform of the academy system is gradually rolling out in domestic universities, and Fudan University , Xi'an Jiaotong University , etc. are the early batches. In most colleges and universities that implement the academy system, the academies and colleges are both student education and training organizations. Some enroll students according to majors, and some enroll students according to major categories. Students are enrolled in academies and adopt a mixed-use model to conduct community management. The two academies of Lizheng and Heluo from Henan University of Science and Technology are recruited according to their majors.

【2】College system features: mixed accommodation, mentor system education
In the college system reform of Henan University of Science and Technology, dormitories are the carrier. The reporter noticed that Lizheng and Heluo academies were transformed from some buildings in the school’s Qianyuan and Jiayuan student apartments. When the academy was first established, students from the School of Mathematics and Statistics, School of Architecture, and School of Law of the school moved to Lizheng Academy; students from the School of Humanities, School of Physical Engineering, and School of Forensic Medicine moved to Heluo Academy.
Lin Xiaomin, director of Heluo Academy, introduced that unlike the traditional college management, students in the academy are allocated dormitories according to grades, and cross-mixed accommodation for students in different colleges and majors is implemented. Ma Ling admitted that in addition to studying professional courses, today's college students have a lot of spare time. Speaking of this, Li Xinyu, a student in architecture at Lizheng Academy, has a deep understanding. In June this year, he just collaborated with classmates in mathematics and statistics to jointly complete the research report project and won the first prize in provincial competitions.

Yang Guoxin said that over the past year, as the head of the academy, he has been thinking about and summarizing the development of the academy. "The construction of the academy system is an important support for promoting the reform of the education system in colleges and universities. He concluded that when colleges and universities implement the academy system, they must first have a complete top-level design, and then personnel, funds, public spaces, etc. are all prerequisite elements. Taking our Lizheng Academy as an example, boys and girls live on different floors, boys live on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors, and girls live on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors, and strictly manage it. The academy system implements mixed accommodation. From the perspective of hardware facilities, students enter the academy and enjoy better accommodation conditions.

Reporter: Do girls' parents' meetings pay special attention to mixed living?
Lizheng Academy student Wang Ke (female): Yes. After I said I would stay in the dormitory last year, my parents also asked, and the parents of girls were more worried. After explaining to them, I felt that nothing was wrong. When I was in high school, boys and girls were in the same dormitory building, blocking a wooden board in the middle. I have lived there for a year and it feels normal. Compared to living in the dormitory building before I left the dormitory, I found that everyone would clean up carefully before leaving the dormitory.
【2】College system will "distancing" students and professional teachers?
After the implementation of the academy system, students will be trained by the academy and the college, and the teachers in the college also enter the academy to guide students. After the academy system was implemented, the professional teachers of students in the academy were also their tutors in the academy.
