Tsai Ing-wen officially took over as the president of Taiwan’s “Chinese Culture Association” on the 9th. In her speech, she mentioned that although there are differences between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, there is more room for mutually beneficial cooperation. Culture is the best bridge for mutual understanding and communication. But the outside world is still worried that the DPP will operate in reverse and hollow out Chinese culture.

Taiwan "Chinese Culture Association" held the seventh first membership meeting on the afternoon of the 9th. After the new members joined the meeting, Tsai Ing-wen was elected by members as the president. The vice president was replaced by Chen Jianren, deputy leader of the Taiwan authorities, and Jiang Chunnan, former deputy secretary-general of the "National Security Council", and the secretary-general was Lin Jinchang, the core aide of Tsai Ing-wen.
In his speech, Tsai Ing-wen said that the new team will continue to work hard to deepen Taiwan’s culture, and has three main tasks: First, continue to improve and deepen Taiwan’s cultural strength; second, continue to promote cross-strait cultural exchanges and cooperation; third, strengthen Taiwan’s cultural and international exchanges.
Tsai Ing-wen said that in the past few years, culture has indeed played a very important role in cultural exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. In the future, we also look forward to the relevant exchange work that can continue. Although there are differences between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, there is more room for mutually beneficial cooperation. We are willing to take the greatest goodwill and through cultural exchanges, we can enhance our understanding of each other. During the communication process, learning from each other can also enrich one's own culture.
"Chinese Culture Association" may not escape the bad luck
Tsai Ing-wen also serves as the president of the Cultural Association. The blue camp is worried that the "Chinese Culture Association" will become the "Taiwan Culture Association". The Kuomintang chairman candidate Zhan Qixian html posted an article on Facebook on the 69th that "Chinese culture" should not be deliberately avoided, but should be regarded as an important asset and continue to be carried forward.
Before Tsai Ing-wen took the helm of the "Chinese Culture Association", the news that former president Liu Zhaoxuan resigned was run by the green camp. This cultural institution will be "washed green" by the Tsai Ing-wen authorities, and has been lingering.
"Chinese Culture Association" was established in 1967 and was established by Chiang Kai-shek . The main purpose is to "promote the fine Chinese culture." After Chen Shui-bian came to power, he once renamed the "Chinese Cultural Association" to the "National Cultural Association" for the sake of "de-Sinicization". In 2010, Ma Ying-jeou recommended former "Premier Administrative" and well-known writer Liu Zhaoxuan (pseudonym Shangguan Ding) as president. After Liu Zhaoxuan took office, the association restored the name of the "Chinese Cultural Association" and did a lot of things that were conducive to cross-strait cultural exchanges.
However, Liu Zhaoxuan's term of office was not over, and the green camp that came to power rushed people in a hurry. On the one hand, he accused him of not giving way according to "convention", and on the other hand, he mobilized "Vice President" Chen Jianren, "Minister of Culture" Zheng Lijun and Taipei Palace Director Lin Zhengyi and other hundreds of "our own people" who flocked to the association, in order to drive away dissidents and ensure that Tsai Ing-wen successfully "takes the throne".
In November last year, Liu Zhaoxuan announced his resignation as president and no longer involved in all operations and business of the "Chinese Cultural Association". He criticized that for several months, even the senior officials of "Guo An" have intervened and overwhelmed Tsai Ing-wen as president, which has reached an incredible level, "I will not continue playing anymore."
Outside questions, the DPP has long advocated "de-Sinicization" and destroyed Chinese culture. After Tsai Ing-wen took over, how can we ensure the inheritance of Chinese culture? There are also reports that the DPP is eager to get back the Cultural Association. On the one hand, it is "backed listing" to engage in cultural Taiwan independence, and on the other hand, it also hopes to use this to open up the "third track" of exchanges with the mainland. Taiwan Style Media reported that Tsai Ing-wen's aide Lin Jinchang was once considered to be sent to the Straits Foundation as vice chairman, but the Taiwan authorities planned that with his background familiar to the cultural circle, he could serve as secretary-general of the "Chinese Cultural Association". It is not ruled out that he logged in with this identity in the future.
However, some media bluntly stated that the cultural exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait during the Liu Zhaoxuan period were based on the recognition of the " 1992 Consensus ". When the general premise of cross-strait exchanges does not exist, whether culture can work as the third track can work, it is also necessary to question whether it is possible to use culture as the third track.
In addition, Huang Chongyan, spokesperson of Tsai Ing-wen's office, once ridiculed Liu Zhaoxuan, "It is either the pen name is Shangguan Ding, or the cultural person." However, the new leader Tsai Ing-wen's Chinese cultural literacy has even made the public question. From the inscription "Self-Ran" in the Spring Festival couplet, to the inscription "Light up Taiwan" in the handwritten three-word mistakes, some netizens couldn't help but ridicule that Tsai Ing-wen's position in charge probably should be "illiterate always". Some netizens also said that it is ironic that the green camp politicians who are crazy about " de-Chang Hua " applied to join the Chinese Culture Association established by Chiang Kai-shek.
