BTS brokerage said, "Due to the situation that we cannot control, it is difficult to resume the previous planned performances. Therefore, we must announce the cancellation of the "MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR" world tour."
After announcing the cancellation of the tour, Big Hit Music also explained this: "Previously, Seoul tour was cancelled in February last year, and then the North American station performance was postponed in March; the European and Japanese tours terminated the sales tickets before the postponement was issued. Unfortunately, we must now notify you of the official cancellation of the tour. For fans who have booked tickets to the North American performance, you will receive an email from the original purchase point about refunds."
In January last year, BTS announced that it would hold the "MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR" world tour, which aroused the cheers of fans and was looking forward to the arrival of the performance. It was originally planned to kick off the BTS' "MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR" world tour concert in Seoul on April 11, 2020, and then toured 17 cities in countries such as the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and other countries. However, due to the epidemic, the tour was postponed several times after its release, and it was announced to be suspended on April 28 that year.
After Big Hit Music announced the cancellation of BTS World Tour plan, a large number of BTS fans said they were sad to not see their performances, but also expressed their understanding that the safety and health of BTS members are the first priority. However, in order to make up for fans' understanding and support for their work, Big Hit Music said that after canceling the "MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR" world tour, "a feasible performance schedule is being formulated to meet everyone's expectations" and will provide a new performance plan as soon as possible.
