1. Leigaowei construction and administrative affiliated inheritance

The Leigaowei Residents Group was established in June 1953, and in 1954, it was joined by Leigaowei. Leigaowei belonged to the 12th production team of Leigao Senior Management District, and by 1988, the Leigao Community Residents Committee was established. The main surnames of Leigaowei include Lu, Zhong, Chen, Hong, Lin and Huang. The ancestors of the Lu family moved from Putian, Fujian to Dong'an Village, Taiping, Guangdong, and in 1737, they moved from Dong'an Village, to the local area. In the thirteenth generation, the population was about 300. The ancestors of the Zhong family moved to their local residence from Putian, Fujian in the Qing Dynasty. In the fourteenth generation, the population was about 400. Chen Hongwang, the founder of the village who moved to the south from Putian, Fujian in the Qing Dynasty, moved to Shentang Maihao, Guangdong, and later moved from Shentang Maihao to this place. In the thirteenth generation, the population was 300. The Hong family, whose ancestors moved from Xiakeng to live here, had a population of less than 200. In ancient times, Leigaowei towns were block-shaped, and most of the buildings were brick-wood structures. Nanxing to Dongli, Leicheng to Leigao, and Leigao to Kengwei three routes cross the territory. The main street of Guleigaowei is an important channel for the entire Leigao and its location is important. Before the Republic of China, Leigao Ancient Wu only had 2 Zhuben Pavilion, with more than 400 square meters. At that time, the main products on the market were fish and shrimp, pork, vegetables, bamboo and wood furniture, farm tools, mesh equipment, etc. The steamer was mainly located on the north side of the street, and now the open space to the south of Leigao Central Primary School. The main street of Leigao Guxu is only a few dozen meters, from west to east, from the entrance of Darutian Village to Leigao Health Center. The street is narrow and only more than four meters wide. There are many well-preserved tile houses on both sides, which are tall and spacious, and have a strong sense of age. The gate facing the street was wide open, and it was the largest and most important store and government office at that time. It could be seen that it was prosperous and glorious in the past. There is also a northward cross street that extends from the main street to Leigao Central Primary School, which is also dozens of meters away. There are many shops on both sides of the street, and it was open in the late 1970s, with grocery and food shops. According to research, on the south side of Leigao Guxu Street, two houses were medicinal materials shops, which were important places for Leigao people to see a doctor and get medicine. Then the two large tiled houses were carpentry shops. In the past, tables, chairs, beds and other furniture all came out from this. At that time, it was a very important industry and shop, with customers and business booming; then there were two more grand and beautiful tiled houses, which were well preserved. There were two brick cylinders in front of the door, and now it was rarely found such valuable ancient brick cylinders. According to the owner, this place was once a cake shop, not an ordinary cake shop, but a big cake shop required by traditional customs in Leizhou - machine brown cakes. It was not something that ordinary people could make at that time. It can be seen that the owner's financial resources were extraordinary. There are also several different stores. On the north side of Leigao Guxu Street, starting from Hengjie, the intersection is a cannon tower, which was very important and practical before liberation. The actual purpose is a watchtower, which is more than two-story high, with an area of about 9 square meters. From the ground to 2 meters above the ground, it is all bluestone produced in Leizhou Peninsula. Upwards are bricks and dirt corners inside. Unfortunately, after liberation, the industrial and commercial industry demolished the upper floor of the artillery building and replaced it with a tile house as an office building, which is now relatively complete. Next to the artillery tower are the houses, and then the health center . The predecessor of the health center, the room is not big, which shows the simplicity and backwardness of the health industry in the past. Next are banks, taxation and other departments. There are also some ancient houses preserved in Hengjie north, including Mazi Shop (restaurants), hardware shops, tailor shops, fish, wood, bamboo utensils, and pigs at the north end of Hengjie.
After the liberation, after the People's Government took over the old embankment in 1950, due to the Nandu River seawall construction, which lasted for more than 20 years. Leigaowei, as the building materials market for the construction of the Nandu River and the supply of daily necessities for builders, the embankment area continued to expand and develop eastward, but the embankment center has always been in the old embankment area.Including the current farmers' market, middle schools and surrounding areas, from County Road 691 (Leibei Avenue) to the north, Leinan Avenue in the south, Leizhong Avenue in the east, and central primary school in the west, they are all slopes, farmland, villages, vegetable gardens, and streams. The farmland is very large and the streams are not small. The water flows continuously all year round. The water is very deep, clean, clear and transparent. In the past, I had to learn from the current middle school to Leinan Avenue for a long way to go. Until the mid-1980s, many important units in Leigaowei were close to the east of the old embankment area, such as grain institutes, junior high schools and primary schools, health centers, supply and marketing cooperatives, food stations, rural credit cooperatives, pharmaceutical stores, Xinhua Bookstore , state-owned stores, etc. The farmers' market before the 1980s was in Leigao Village.
In the mid-1980s, in order to adapt to the changes of the times, economic development, and population expansion, the dike area further developed eastward. It was not until 1985 that the middle school moved out of the current central primary school to its current site. It was still a slope, with pineapples planted, and close to paddy fields to the south. The farmland and streams were then filled up, and the farmers' market was also built, gradually building the current Leixi Street and Maidan Street. China Telecom Leigao Business Hall and shops and buildings on both sides of the surrounding streets were gradually built, forming a prosperous, lively and commercially developed area in Leigaowei.
