According to Taiwanese media reports, a nanny was prosecuted by the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor's Office for business negligence today. The licensed nanny named Hong was preparing to take a bath for the 7-month-old baby boy named Yang at her residence in January this year. However, when she walked into the bathroom with the baby boy from the living room, she accidentally tripped off her shoes indoors. She was holding the baby boy's right hand and hit the bathroom door frame with her right hand slammed into the bathroom door frame, causing the baby boy to slide out of her hand and fell to the ground and died.
The baby boy's parents sued that because a woman surnamed Hong has a nanny license and has taken care of relatives and friends for 3 years, she was handed over to the baby when the baby boy was 3 months old, and the time was from 8 am to 5 pm every day.
The prosecutor's investigation pointed out that at around 11 a.m. on January 25 this year, Ms. Hong walked from the living room to the bathroom with her baby boy in her arms. When Huai Bei was taking a bath, she accidentally tripped off her shoes in front of the bathroom. Her center of gravity was unstable and fell forward. Although she did not fall to the ground, her right elbow in her arms hit the bathroom door frame and numb, causing the baby boy in her hand to slide out and fall from a height of about 90 cm. The back of her head directly hit the bathroom floor, causing the skull to break. After picking up the baby boy, Ms. Hong found that he had abnormalities in his body. She immediately called 119 for help, but the baby boy was still seriously injured and died after 4 days.
After the investigation, the prosecutor believed that Ms. Hong was involved in the crime of business negligence, but considering that she had no prior record, she admitted that she committed crimes during the investigation and had reached a settlement with the baby boy's parents. Therefore, she filed a lawsuit in accordance with the law and requested the court to receive a lighter sentence.
