Recently, Tsai Ing-wen's office announced abnormal movements in Taiwan's security and cross-strait personnel teams. Chen Mingtong, the current chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council, was transferred to the head of the security department, and the position of chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council was replaced by former deputy chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council, Chiu Taisan. However, in response to the latest personnel changes announced by the Tsai administration, Zhao Shaokang, chairman of Taiwan China Guangfa Group, pointed out in an interview a few days ago that this is just a change of soup and not a medicine. The cross-strait problem is not among these people. The DPP authorities are still "anti-China" and "hate of China". Such personnel changes are useless even if they change 100 times.
According to Overseas Network on February 23, Taiwan’s new chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council Qiu Taisan said on the same day that cross-strait exchanges are bound to resume. Many friends on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, including Taiwanese businessmen and people, are looking forward to the spring flowers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait in the future. However, he also claimed that the concept of "Taiwan independence" is "already different" on the island, and he does not know much about the mainland's concept and definition of "Taiwan independence". Subsequently, Zhao Shaokang, who had announced that he would participate in the 2024 Taiwan leadership election, directly called out Tsai Ing-wen on the same day and asked her to come out and take an oath: Taiwan will never pursue so-called "independence".
Zhao Shaokang, who has always been called a "famous mouth" in Taiwan, said at a press conference on the 23rd that the chairman of the DPP is Tsai Ing-wen, so she must first explain whether the DPP is a "Taiwan independence" party. He asked Tsai Ing-wen, "Is this very difficult? It's not very difficult!" According to Taiwanese media reports, Zhao Shaokang believes that Tsai Ing-wen should first declare to the outside world that Taiwan will never pursue so-called "independence", nor will it "amend constitution" or "constitutional composition" become so-called "independence". The DPP is not a "Taiwan independence" party. In fact, the historical development trend of national reunification cannot be stopped by anyone. Tsai Ing-wen's recent reorganization of security and personnel in cross-strait departments is also considered to be an intention to take advantage of the ease of Sino-US relations to improve cross-strait relations and even restart dialogue.
However, Taiwanese media published a commentary article by freelance writer Wang Liangyan, saying that the Tsai administration was ostensibly expressing goodwill to the mainland and delivering olive branches. However, an olive branch without fruit is actually just a play. Because Tsai Ing-wen "has no Chinese feelings in her bones", under this circumstance, Tsai Ing-wen does not have the conditions to restart dialogue with the mainland. In addition, Zhao Shaokang recently emphasized that he does not have to be the chairman of the Kuomintang because he may not be qualified, but he will definitely run for the leadership of Taiwan in 2024.
