North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit passed the "new strategic concept" after 12 years. It mentioned mainland China for the first time in history. It criticized mainland China in areas such as national defense construction, economic policy, and technological development. The Secretary-General of NATO even extended his hand to Taiwan. The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to this, and China is seriously concerned about this and firmly opposes NATO's interference in the Taiwan issue.

On the other hand, at the NATO summit held in Madrid, Spain, British Foreign Minister Tras emphasized the threat of China, and also mentioned Taiwan again. Seeing China continue to expand its influence economically and militarily, Tras is worried that China may "get wrong ideas" from the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, leading to a "disastrous misjudgment", such as taking Taiwan by force.
"New Strategic Concept" refers to Russia as the "most direct threat" to NATO Alliance , while China poses a "systemic challenge" and mentions the Taiwan issue. Obviously, NATO wants to extend his hands to the Taiwan Strait, and even the United Kingdom, which is far from Taiwan in geography and history, wants to put a flag on the Taiwan issue.
British and the United States sing double-acting to reach out to the Taiwan Strait
After Brexit, the United Kingdom is seeking opportunities to make its mark internationally and has frequently spoken about the Taiwan Strait issue. In an interview, Tras talked about Taiwan again, saying that the West must learn lessons from the mistakes in the Ukrainian-Russian war and apply them to Taiwan to ensure that Taiwan is defended. She also mentioned that she wanted to "protect peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait."
At almost the same time, US Secretary of State Blinken also emphasized that the United States "supports Taiwan to establish asymmetric defense capabilities." The Taiwan delegation has just ended the "Taiwan-US High-Level Military Security and Strategic Dialogue" (also known as the Monterey Talks) to attend the United States. It was reported during the meeting that the US side suggested that Taiwan make every effort to invest in "asymmetric" weapons and give up purchasing of large-scale carriers such as fighter jets, warships, , etc. Before this, the Taiwan military's three weapons procurement cases, including the MH-60R Seahawk anti-submarine helicopter, were rejected by the US on the principle of "asymmetric combat power".
From this we can see that Trass' statement also fully demonstrates the special relationship between Britain and the United States.
According to the British media Financial Times, senior British and American officials held their first meeting as early as March to discuss the response plan for the conflict in the Taiwan Strait, which shows that the two countries have planned for cooperation in "targeting China".
This time, led by the UK, and sang to each other with NATO led by the US, so that Britain and the United States intend to lead Europe to intervene in the Taiwan Strait. Next, NATO forces will further expand to regions outside Europe, especially targeting the Asia-Pacific, and trying to replicate the European group's confrontation routine to the Asia-Pacific. This approach may further affect the situation in the Taiwan Strait.
NATO wants to make the Taiwan Strait Ukrainian
The most severe wording in the "new strategic concept" announced by NATO is pointing to Russia, but it is too far-fetched to mention the part of mainland China, because there is no discussion on mainland China in the strategic documents released in 2010.
In fact, in the G7 communiqué that ended before the opening of the NATO summit in Madrid , the word "China" appeared 14 times, setting a new record in history. The NATO summit followed the same route, pointed at China in the "new strategic concept", and left the issue that should have been concerned about, and tried its best to provoke China. It was obviously in line with the United States' pressure on China, trying to work with the United States to break through regional stability and undermine the Asia-Pacific order, especially the existing peace state in the Taiwan Strait.
Today, global problems are becoming increasingly prominent, especially in Europe, where Europe is facing a tense state. The two highest-standard summits in the West actually dealt with China, which should have been an important partner, as the enemy, and even provoked Taiwan's security issue. This shows its intention to manipulate geopolitics.
According to the current US approach to Taiwan’s defense, it is undoubtedly to guide Taiwan’s defense to “Ukrainize”, that is, to replace the previous air control, sea control and anti-landing with ground defense, reflecting the trend of the US military’s own strategic thinking towards “asymmetric combat”.
On the surface, Western countries intend to ensure Taiwan’s defense capabilities, but at the point of time, the purpose of these countries supporting Taiwan is only to deal with mainland China and make Taiwan a bargaining chip. It may even follow the Ukrainian model, and handle it in accordance with the method of “everyone shakes the flags and shouts on the sidelines but never participates”, and use the goal of sacrificing the wealth and property of the Taiwanese people to achieve the goal of checking and balancing the mainland.
The United States and NATO are both responsible for the tragic situation in Ukraine. Once a conflict occurs in the Taiwan Strait, Taiwan will be victimized first in the absence of timely and sufficient military and foreign aid. NATO discourages Taiwan from pursuing peace to avoid war, but instead provokes the export of Cold War thinking and replicates the confrontation of the camp. This kind of behavior of interfering in Asia-Pacific affairs and undermining regional peace will eventually lead to failure.
