In order to win a place for women, the 5th constituency of the Kaohsiung City Councillor of the Chinese Kuomintang only plans to nominate one man and one woman. Chen Qingmao, the general who has already registered to run for the election, has now expressed his feelings to the party department, hoping to report that he will run for the election as an independent. The Kaohsiung City Party Department of the Kuomintang stated that "it should be approved."

Kaohsiung City Councilor's 5th constituency (4 districts of Renwu, Dashe, Bisong, Dashu) should be elected 5 seats, including 1 seat for women's guaranteed place. The current members of the Congress include Qiu Junxian, Jiang Ruihong, Zhang Shengfu, and Kuomintang Xu Huiyu and Wu Licheng.
Since the district has always been a voting house for the DPP, the DPP nominated 4 seats for election this time. In addition to the three male MPs who are fighting for re-election, one new female Huang Feifeng is preparing to win a place for women. Huang's second sister-in-law is Lin Fangru, who failed to re-election in 2018. She has strong grassroots strength.
The only current Kuomintang has registered Wu Licheng and former village chief Chen Qingmao, and the current senior member Xu Huiyu has not registered this time due to family and health factors. Xu Fuming, chairman of the municipal party committee, said that the Kuomintang lacks a women's seat in the fifth constituency and will start negotiations, recruitment and other tasks, and will never be absent in the constituency.
Chen Qingmao is one of the "five tiger generals supporting Han" who rose to the scene when he ran for the mayor of Kuoi and Kaohsiung. He lost in 2018 as an independent city council member and made a comeback this year. However, because the Kuomintang plans to nominate a man and a woman, there is no need to handle any primary elections under the current priority. He said he is sure that he cannot run for the Kuomintang for election as a member of parliament.
Chen Qingmao emphasized through Facebook that he is a member of the Kuomintang and must abide by this mechanism. The only opportunity now is to report to the central government for approval and allow him to run for election as an independent person, so that he can retain his Kuomintang membership. If the party does not agree and run for election on his own, the party will be expelled from the party. He has submitted his letter of love to the local party department to the Central Party Department, and is confident that the party department should approve it.
In response to this, Xu Fuming, chairman of the Kaohsiung Party Committee of the Kuomintang, said that the 5th constituency was originally a conservative nomination. After discussion, Chen Qingmao believed that there was room for a third seat and he should be approved to run for the election as an independent.
As for whom is the other female candidate in the constituency? Xu Fuming said that if Xu Huiyu is sure not to choose, she will encourage women who have no room for election in other constituencies to be brave enough to change districts to run for election, and it will be announced next week.
