On November 18, the results of the 2021 Chinese Academy of Sciences election and the election of foreign academicians were announced. This election produced 65 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 25 foreign academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Guizhou Province core expert, researcher at the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hu Ruizhong , outstanding alumnus of Guizhou University, former vice president Zhang Keqin was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021.

Academician Hu Ruizhong is from Dao County, Hunan. From 1978 to 1988, he studied in the radiogeology major of Chengdu Geology College (now Chengdu University of Science and Technology ), and obtained a bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. From April to December 1988, he served as a lecturer at Chengdu Geology University. From 1989 to 1991, he studied at the postdoctoral station of the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has worked in the institute since leaving the station. He has served as deputy director and director of the Open Research Laboratory of Mineral Deposit Geochemistry of the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, assistant, deputy director and director of the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute. He is currently a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and director of the State Key Laboratory of Geochemistry of Mineral Deposits. In November 2021, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

As the first batch of core experts in Guizhou Province, Dr. Hu Ruizhong has won 1 highest science and technology award in Guizhou Province and 5 first prizes in Guizhou Province Science and Technology Progress Award as the first person. He was elected as one of the top ten outstanding young people in Guizhou Province in 1994.

Academician Zhang Keqin is from Qianxi, Guizhou. In 1981, he graduated from Guizhou University (formerly Guizhou Agricultural College) with a bachelor's degree, graduated from Guizhou University (formerly Guizhou Agricultural College) with a master's degree, and was promoted to professor in 1995, promoted to doctoral supervisor in 1998, received a doctoral degree from , , and worked as a visiting scholar at a British university in 1989 and 1992. In 1998, he was introduced to Yunnan University as a cross-century first-level talent in Yunnan Province. From January 2001 to February 2019, he worked at Yunnan University and served as vice president; on November 18, 2021, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Family of Life Sciences and Medicine).

Academician Zhang Keqin is an outstanding scholar in the field of nematode biocontrol. He discovered a series of important nematode bioremediation microbial resources and pilot compounds, and built the world's largest nematode bioremediation microbial resource library. These systemic original achievements have made significant contributions to solving the global problems of nematode control and the green development of my country's agriculture. He developed the first nematode biopesticide "nematode Bike" in China with independent intellectual property rights, which has achieved large-scale production and application of products.
Academician Zhang Keqin presided over the first nematode biocontrol "973" and the national high-tech industrialization project in my country. He won 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 gold prize of China's invention patent, Yunnan Province Outstanding Contribution Award for Science and Technology, 1 Yunnan Province Natural Science Special Prize, and 6 provincial and ministerial natural science and science and technology progress first prizes, won the He Liang He Li Award, Tan Jiazhen Life Science Award, , etc., and obtained 62 authorized invention patents in China.He published 219 SCI papers in PNAS, Nat Commun, Sci Adv, J Am Chem Soc and other journals, and published 4 monographs in China and Foreign Press, making important contributions to solving the world problem of nematode biocontrol and sustainable agricultural development.
